Tarot House Deck Interview

The Tarot House deck is the first deck I have found via Twitter. Networking online with other Tarotists, I stumbled upon the lovely Tricia House’s profile and when I realised she was a deck creator of a self-published deck I just had to check it out. Tricia co-created the Tarot House deck with her daughter, Jenny, who is a Reiki Healer and Tarot reader. You can read how the deck came about HERE. The deck comes infused with Reiki energy and feels wonderful to handle right from the start. It also comes beautifully wrapped in gold tissue paper and a beautiful complimentary bag to keep the cards in (there is no cardboard box). Also included is a leaflet with divinatory meanings and two cards with spread descriptions for the Celtic Cross, a 9 Card Spread and a Chakra Spread. More in-depth card meanings are provided on the website, where you can also see samples of individual cards. Let’s cut to the chase and see what this deck which I’m totally having a girl crush on (yes, it is definitely a ‘she’) is really all about!   1. Describe yourself in three words or less – 7 of Pentacles: She Who Perseveres Me: That’s great. My greatest shortcoming is a lack of patience! Or is it wanting instant gratification? I can’t decide. Tarot House: Perhaps it is indecision? Me: Ha! Moving right along… 2. How would your best friend describe you using only three words? – Judgement: Strict but fair Me: Awesome! I love this card. It reminds me of three very special Spirit Guides. This card is one of the main reasons I know I had to have this deck. This will make it easier for them to communicate since I’m not yet very clairvoyant or clairaudient. 3. What gift do you bring? – 6 of Cups: I bring you the gift of friendship. Isn’t it true to say that you felt as if you were being united with a long lost friend the first time you held me in your hands? Me: Correct 4. What do you expect in return? – The Devil: I’m sure it didn’t escape your notice that you pulled another 6 vibration card, but one that pertains to your shadow. I expect you to deal with your remaining fears head on. It’s time to clear any blocks to love once and for all so that healing energy can flow unhindered in all your Tarot work. 5. How can you help me serve? – 7 of Swords: The sparsely illustrated pips can help you to detach emotionally and analyse your readings strategically. 6. Is there anything else you would like to tell me about yourself? – 5 of Wands: Yes! We share a passion for healing and for using the cards holistically. This makes us a perfect match, even though we don’t see eye to eye on every single...

Lammas Celebration Tarot Spread

Lammas Celebration Tarot Spread

It’s Lammas (aka Lughnasadh) – a time for celebration! The name Lammas comes from the Anglo-Saxon word hlaf-mass, meaning ‘loaf mass.’ In the olden days, people would celebrate the first harvest by bringing a loaf of bread with them to mass. Did you know that Shakespeare’s Juliet was born on the Eve of Lammas? Apparently this supposedly signified that she would never taste the sweet fruit of love by consummating her relationship with Romeo. I created a Tarot spread in the shape of a man because of the tradition of making a corn dolly on Lammas, as well as shaping the loaf made out of the first harvest into a man or deity (the Celtic Sun god Lugh is a popular choice among neo-pagans). 1. Theme – What is the theme of this year’s harvest? The cards will tell you if it is health (Pentacles), work (Wands), relationships (Cups) or problem solving (Swords). Or perhaps one of the Majors will show up to guide you. Pay extra heed if this is the case – a spiritual lesson is taking you to the next stage of your journey. 2. Chaff – This will tell you needs to be cleared away in time for baking the Lammas loaf. 3. Wheat – As always, you are reaping what you have sown. Remember to give thanks. Whatever your harvest looks like, it brings with it a blessing – even if it is just a lesson. 4. Stewardship – This card tells you how to be a good steward and how to distribute this year’s harvest responsibly so that it brings maximum joy and sustenance to everyone. 5. Giving – Tithing is a practice that is long-forgotten by many, yet it is true that giving is more blessed than receiving. Remember that there are many ways to give even if there is no physical harvest. Perhaps you can give of your time and help someone who is just starting out in your area of expertise? Giving always starts a chain reaction of blessings! 6. Celebrating – Read this card together with the first card to come up with a theme for your Lammas party. Don’t just focus on traditional card meanings. Allow yourself to be guided by free-associating and looking at visual clues. Tarot Tip: Choose a festive deck to work with for this spread! SAMPLE LAMMAS 2012 READING WITH THE SIMPLY DEEP TAROT DECK 1. Theme – The Tower. A Major. So much has happened in such a short amount of time (I’m talking about 2012!) that The Tower seems almost inevitable. A chain reaction of some sort has been set in motion and soon I’ll find both what the catalyst was as well as what remains after the lightning has struck. 2. Chaff – I clearly need a holiday. All this mental activity à la Knight of Swords has led to the...

The Pages – Messengers of Love

The Pages – Messengers of Love

The Pages are often said to represent students or children in general. However, they can also be seen as messages and in Love Tarot readings, they often show up when someone has received or is about to receive a message. This is especially true together with the 8 of Wands or the Ace of Swords. Each Page can be seen as a representative for their Element, so naturally the romantic messages conveyed by the Pages will have their own unique flavour. Below you will find some examples of the types of messages you can expect from each of the four Pages in the Tarot deck: FIRE The Page of Wands (the straight forward and passionate messenger) Hook-Up Message: Feeling horny. Are you in tonight? x Long-term Relationship Message: I’ll be home soon. Greet me wearing nothing but cling film. X X X   WATER The Page of Cups (the romantic, shy and sentimental messenger) Hook-Up Message: Are you free tonight? Just wondering if you fancy a walk along the beach. It looks like the Moon might make an appearance xx Long-term Relationship Message: Honey, I miss you so much. I’m sitting here thinking about that absolutely amazing day out we had to the coast last summer. Do you miss me half as much as I miss you? Can’t wait to feel your arms around me xxxxx   AIR The Page of Swords (analytical, chatty and critical messenger) Hook-Up Message: Have you seen the latest *insert name of Art House film director* film? It would be great if you could come with me and maybe we could go for a coffee and discuss the film after? What do you think? x Long-term Relationship Message: Leaving the office now. I think the boss has a severe case of PMT. Will tell you all about it when I get home. Do I need to pick up milk? See you in 30 minutes, snugglebuns x   EARTH The Page of Pentacles (the practical, nurturing and sensual messenger) Hook-Up Message: The Farmer’s market is on this weekend. Fancy coming along to sample some local delicacies? x Long-term Relationship Message: What do you want for tea tonight, honey? I was thinking Japanese but I’m not sure if we have enough of the Japanese rice left. Is Italian OK? Oh, and guess what? That massage oil I ordered online yesterday already arrived so prepare for a nice relaxing massage tonight xxx Which of these Pages is more you in the way you text someone? Which one reminds you most of your partner? Angel Blessings Lisa...

16 Pregnancy and Fertility Tarot Card Combos

16 Pregnancy and Fertility Tarot Card Combos

Before I start listing the pregnancy and fertility card combinations, I want to make it abundantly clear that you should never use the cards in place of a medical health care professional, nor do I recommend using the cards as a pregnancy test. I can assure you that you won’t get much joy from the cards that way since detachment from the outcome is necessary in order to accurately read the cards. My reason for creating this list of tarot card combination interpretations is to help you get to know the cards better. Naturally, birth and pregnancies do show up in readings – as do miscarriages and abortions. The knowledge shared with you in this post must be used with utmost discretion when reading for others. Always make it clear that your reading is not an alternative to pregnancy tests or proper medical check-ups. Never give a pregnant lady bad news or tell someone that they are unable to have children. EVER. This is for the same reason you never ever use the cards to diagnose a condition. You are not a doctor. Do have fun experimenting with these interpretations by picking out the cards used (as you will see, many of them are repeated) and see if you can come up with other meaningful combinations that relate to pregnancy and fertility. If you are looking for a Pregnancy Tarot Spread which covers all three trimesters, as well as conception, birth and sex of the baby, you will find one HERE. Positive Pregnancy Test: Negative Pregnancy Test: Peak Fertility: A Broody Woman: Extremely Fertile Woman: Barren Woman: Extremely Fertile Man: Miscarriage: Blighted Ovum / ‘Missed Miscarriage’: Abortion: Unexpected Pregnancy: The Birth of a New Family Member: Twins or Multiples: The Birth of a Baby Boy: The Birth of a Baby Girl: A Healthy...
