Let the Angels Help with Your Friendships

“There is nothing I would not do for those who are really my friends. I have no notion of loving people by halves, it is not my nature.” ~ Jane Austen The 3 of Cups is often considered a card of friendship and celebration. In the traditional Rider Waite imagery, you will see three young maidens dancing joyfully, cups raised. It can also indicate the birth of a child, an engagement, a wedding or a christening… all depending on surrounding cards. The birth of a child: 3 of Cups with any of the Page, The Sun or the Empress An engagement: 3 of Cups with the Knight of Cups or the Ace of Swords A wedding: 3 of Cups with The Hierophant and the 4 of Wands A christening: 3 of Cups with The Hierophant and the Sun But let us consider the friendship aspect of this card some more. Not everyone finds it easy to make friends so that energy is also found on the spectrum of this card. It could show up in a reversal or next to cards that speak of isolation, like the 3 of Swords, 4 of Pentacles or The Hermit. “Let me tell you this: if you meet a loner, no matter what they tell you, it’s not because they enjoy solitude. It’s because they have tried to blend into the world before, and people continue to disappoint them.” ~ Jodi Picoult What the angels want us to know is that they are more than happy to help us with our friendships, because they too are our friends. Their way of helping us find new friends and to form healthy, solid friendships is by showing us how to first be our own best friend and then to start extending friendship to others by being the sort of friend we want more of in our lives. The angels can inspire us to be the sort of friend who doesn’t disappoint others… “A friend is someone who knows all about you and still loves you.” ~ Elbert Hubbard Affirmation: “I am a good friend.” 3 of Cups Prayer Dear Mother-Father God (or whichever higher power you acknowledge), thank you for the joy of friendship and kindred spirits. Help me BE the friend I seek in others. So mote it be! (Listen to prayer on Instagram) Correspondences for the 3 of Cups Planet: Mercury Zodiac Sign: Cancer Archangel: Raphael (ruler of Mercury) and Gabriel (angel of Cancer) Gemstone: Pearl, aqua aura, mother of pearl Scent: Melissa, lemon, coffee Deck used: Bonefire Tarot   Blessed be!...

Deck Interview with The Sorcerers Tarot

Deck Interview with The Sorcerers Tarot

The Sorcerers Tarot has been eyeballing me from the book shelf for about two weeks now, wondering when I was going to get around to doing a deck interview with it… Having finally completed the Newsletter and cleared my backlog of email readings, I now have a bit of time on my hands. It would be a shame not to use it on interviewing my lovely new deck! I was first drawn to the Sorcerers Tarot by the card depicted on the front of the box – The Empress, looking so lovely and innocent in her white dress with the big red heart covering her chest.  The artwork is by Antonella Castelli who also created the beautiful Art Nouveau Tarot. I’m using the tarot deck interview spread I created to use for an interview with the Watcher Angel Tarot: 1. Describe yourself in three words 2. How would your best friend describe you using only three words 3. What gift do you bring? 4. What do you expect in return? 5. How can you help me serve? 6. Is there anything else you would like to tell me about yourself? I’m really enjoying getting to know the Sorcerers Tarot and I’m having a lot of fun with this tarot spread too. I think I’ll use it on some of my other decks too… Watch this space! 1. I, love, cats *giggles* (7 of Pentacles) 2. On a good day: mysterious, powerful, cat-lover. On a bad day: grumpy, old, witch (Death) 3. I take imaginary stuff like unicorns and turn it into practical stuff like money. (Knight of Pentacles) 4. I expect you to use all your skills and talents in your work with me or that unicorn will come tumbling down and you’ll end up looking after a unicorn with broken legs instead of making lots of money. (The World) 5. I can act as a sword of truth and give you a new perspective. (Ace of Swords) 6. Anything else…? Well yeah. I enjoy dancing skyclad in the forest with my two best friends who are also cat-loving witches. (3 of Cups) Brightest Blessings...

The Tarot 3’s in Love

The Tarot 3’s in Love

In the 3’s we see the birth of something new as a result of the union of two opposing forces. Hence, the 3’s symbolise synthesis, creativity, fulfilment and growth. In love and relationship readings, they indicate a phase of growth and rapid development. 3 of Wands. In love, the 3 of Wands stands for a dynamic relationship where both parties are free to express themselves. There is mutual respect and a lot of outward directed energy and creativity with this dynamic duo. You are encouraged to speak your mind and share yourself with the other freely. If you’re thinking of asking someone out, this is a green light as you’re likely to have a really fun time together. For a single person, this card indicates that getting yourself out there and networking could lead to developments in your personal life (depending on surrounding cards). Reversed or ill-dignified, the 3 of Wands could be and indication of lack of mutual respect and support. It could mean it’s time to move on. On an intimate level, this is a wonderful card for fun and frolics – no room for kink or getting too experimental. 3 of Cups. The 3 of Cups is the card you want to show up if you have planned a romantic getaway. This is a sweet energy that tends to get raunchier if fuelled by drink. If you’re single and wanting to date, you really can’t afford to turn down party invitations when this card shows up. It’s a card of whispering sweet nothings and making the other person blush. It’s a card of dancing the night away and sharing breakfast together the next morning. With The Lovers and/or The Hierophant you could expect wedding bells eventually if you keep having breakfast together. However, if it shows up reversed or ill dignified, it could be a sign that your lover is sharing himself this way with more than one person. Monogamy might not be their forte. Under the duvet, this card is a promise of a mutually satisfying time. Crank Barry White up and get down! 3 of Swords. “Uh-oh”. That’s usually the reaction I get when I see this card in a relationship reading. The very best possible interpretation of this sorrowful card is a forced, temporary situation. Perhaps he’s been stationed abroad. But usually it just means rejection, separation, loss and utter hopelessness. You don’t just feel that you are being unfairly treated – you are being unfairly treated. You have to find a way of changing the balance in your favour. Or you have to when you have stopped crying. You can’t affect the other person or their decisions but you can heal your own heart and make sure that things are different the next time. The truth hurts sometimes. You usually come away from a 3 of Swords lesson realising that you have...
