How to Know if Letting Go of a Lover is for Your Highest Good

Letting go of someone you still love is one of the hardest things you will ever have to do in life. Many find it so difficult that they would rather stay and suffer instead. Because let’s face it, most uf us are decent people and decent people do not enjoy breaking the heart of another person… And when it is the heart of someone we love on some level, it hurts acutely because we feel their pain as our own (especially true for the HSP). There are probably as many reasons as there are people for why things do not always work out even when two people love each other. And then there is the classic… You were a great match for a while but then you grew apart. It happens even to those who swore it would never happen to them (I know because I used to be one of them). None of us like to admit defeat… So how do you know when it is time to say enough? It can be tempting to try to fix things and to examine the relationship dynamic endlessly for faulty patterns. That is all well and good if both of you are willing to do the work. But in the end, the person motivated to pack their suitcases is usually the one who has tried every trick in the book to resolve any long-standing relationship issues… while the other partner has just settled (big sighs). So on one level you already know that you are ready to say your farewells. It is at this stage many people turn to me as a reader and while I am happy to read on the situation, these days I will only read on what is the Highest Good for YOU in this situation. I cannot read on the other person without their permission. Besides, it really doesn’t matter what they do or where they are at with it all for the purpose of making the final decision. All that matters in this situation is that you do what is right for YOU (as you are the only person you can change) – and that is soemthing you can definitely use the cards to look at. So here is a little Tarot spread I created for that very purpose… You cannot make somebody else happy by sacrificing your own happiness. 1. Your relationship contentment levels – This card will uncover how even the flow of give and take is or if there is particular issue that keeps rearing its head. If a card that seems to indicate perfect contentment in every way, such as The Star or the 2 of Cups shows up here, I would encourage you to look a bit deeper by pulling an additional card. 2. What you need for your Soul’s growth – This is something you need on a very...

The Totem Tarot Spread

Posted in Divination | 2 comments

Your totem animal is a spirit guide in animal form who is part of your spirit guide entourage for either a period of time (in connection with a specific life lesson) or your entire life (personal power animal). You can have more than one totem/power animal and they can change as you go through different developmental stages in life. Totem animals resonate with different chakras and highlight both inherent power and weakness of those chakras. When highlighting a weakness, the less desirable traits of the animal comes to the fore. These are the aspects that fill you with fear, shame and even terror… making you project these qualities onto others rather than owning them for yourself. In Jungian psychology this is referred to as the Shadow. You can also have a family totem animal. In my own family, as an example, all four (my mother, father, sister and I) all have a 3 Life Path Numerology. This corresponds with The Empress (Venus), whose symbol is the White Dove. This is not just intellectual knowledge to me, as we all have had visions of said Dove at different times in our life. Totem animals sometimes visit in our dreams (as do angels and spirit guides). I have personally found these to be some of the most powerful, meaningful and memorable dreams I have had. These days, it is quite easy to just Google the meaning of totem animals. However, no matter what they mean in general, you may still not find the exact message they have for you at this point in time… There are a couple of ways of resolving this: you can either keep trying to connect with the spirit animal in your dreams or in meditation until the message becomes clear… OR you can do a Tarot reading on it with the Tarot spread I created specifically for this: 1. Archetype – Chakra Lesson. Use a Major Arcana deck for this or use only the Majors from a full deck. Root Chakra: The Emperor, The Devil, The World Sacral Chakra: The High Priestess, The Empress Solar Plexus Chakra: The Chariot, The Tower and The Sun Heart Chakra: The Lovers, Justice, Strength and Temperance Throat Chakra: The Magician, The Hierophant and the Wheel of Fortune Third Eye Chakra: The Moon, The High Priestess and The Hermit Crown Chakra: The Hanged Man, The Star, The Fool and Judgment For the rest of the spread use a separate deck that contains all Major AND Minor Arcana cards, allowing for repetition of the Major you pulled in position one. 2. Mental concept / awareness. After making sense of the first card, you will instantly recognise how this ties in with the card in the second position as this is something you are already aware of. 3. Subconscious emotional component. This deals with the repressed emotion your totem animal is trying to...

New Deck Interview Spread and Mystical Cats Tarot Review / Interview

Posted in Divination, Reviews | 10 comments

Do you like to get to know your new decks properly before working with them and using them for client readings? I do. I have been doing Tarot deck interviews for years now, using a six card spread that I modified from a forum post I came across on Aeclectic many years ago. I thought it was time I created a new spread, and this time it is all my own creation – although, inevitably – for this type of spread there are some basic spread positions that all such spreads have in common. Often, less is more, so I decided to go for a five card spread this time and the first deck I’m trying this spread out on this the Mystical Cats Tarot that arrived last week. Admittedly, I have already worked with this deck but I’m very much looking forward to getting to know it more in-depth. The Mystical Cats Tarot is a typical Llewellyn deck and book set: big outer box, 201 page companion book and a deck without an inner box. Admittedly, you can tear off the flap of the supporting structure inside the bigger box and use it as a box, but it’s not quite the right size and very flimsy. In my hands, it wouldn’t last long before falling apart. This is a pet peeve of mine and I do hope Llewellyn listens up and starts including a proper box for those of us who don’t have the space to be storing all their big chunky packaging in our tiny flats or houses. The cards measure a standard 12 x 7 cm and have silky matte finish which makes them very easy to shuffle. The backs have a blue background with a reversible paw print design for those of you who read with reversals. I love that this is a borderless deck. The lovely card designs by Mickie Mueller need no frames and these are the kind of cards that make you want to tell stories – borders would just get in the way! The companion book by Lunea Weatherstone includes a little story about what is happening in each card, ‘Cat’s Advice’ and reversed meanings. There are four original spreads included. Thank Bast there is no Celtic Cross – to me that’s just lazy. The large outer box arrived crumpled from Amazon and I could have returned it for a new set but I would have just ended up chucking it out anyway… so sorry – no pic of that included in this review. companion book and card backs Some of the Major have been renamed: The Fool – The Cat The Magician – Cat Magic The Hierophant – The Priest The Wheel of Fortune – The Wheel Justice – Consequences The Hanged Man – The Floating Cat Temperance – Grace The Devil – Demon Cat The Star – Stars Judgement...

Magick Working Tarot Spread

Tarot Magick Spell Reading Chant Cards of power, cards of light Guide me true and guide me right May this working be correct and just Show me the truth in perfect trust! It is always a good idea to check the cards before you go ahead and cast a spell. The spread above will give you some clues if you should or shouldn’t, as well as what you can do to raise/channel energy and what the outcome might be. Before you start laying the cards out, you need to separate the cards into Majors and Minors. The reason is that for the first position you use a Major Arcana card and for the second position a Minor Arcana card. For the following three cards, you mix all 78 cards together before laying them out. It is very important to be grounded, centred and in state of relaxed receptive consciousness (alpha) when you do a reading like this. Begin by lighting a candle and reciting the spell at the top of the page slowly three times. Focus on relaxing more deeply each time you read the words. If shuffling the cards helps you relax too, by all means shuffle while you chant the spell. The Major Arcana card in position one basically tells you whether or not to go ahead… The Fool – yes and there is unlimited potential if you act in trust The Magician – yes and you need to put your skills to good use in the process The High Priestess – yes and you need to cast the spell by the light of the Moon The Empress – yes and you should cast the spell in Nature The Emperor – no, this needs a pragmatic, non-magickal solution The Hierophant – no, this needs a more conventional solution The Lovers – yes and think carefully about your words The Chariot – green light but be sure to leave your ego out of it Strength – yes and more energy will be available through sex magick The Hermit – no, you need to meditate some more on this first The Wheel of Fortune – yes, now is the right time to act and there is a lot of energy available Justice – yes, as long as there are no legal consequences The Hanged Man – no, there is a need for clarity or a new perspective on things first. forget about it for now Death – yes, deep transformation is possible now Temperance – go ahead but make sure that you don’t overreach. be very precise and don’t bite off more than you can chew The Devil – no, you are not in tune with the Highest Good for All The Tower – no, the Universe will throw spanners in the works The Star – yes absolutely, you are doing humanity a service The Moon – only if...
