Moving Forward with Grace

“The most important distinction anyone can ever make in their life is between who they are as an individual and their connection with others.” ~ Anné Linden Are you feeling defensive a lot? Has the past made it difficult for you to let your guard down and just enjoy BEING? This is the Holistic Tarot lesson that comes with the 9 of Wands: To learn from past mistakes without allowing their consequences determine your future choices in a negative/pessimistic way. You have learned a lot and come a long way already but don’t settle for knowing who you are if who you currently are is making you unhappy. The power to change still lies within, no matter how old your negative thought patterns are or how deep those beliefs go… Believe in change and you will see it. Confidence and grace will always keep you far safer than fear and mistrust. 9 of Wands Prayer Dear Mother-Father God (or whichever higher power you acknowledge), help me move forward without the past informing my future. Allow past disappointments to quickly fade and vanish so that I can greet each new day with a sense of optimism. Thank you for the lessons that helped me find sound personal boundaries. Bless those boundaries and keep me safe. So mote it be! Correspondences for the 9 of Wands Zodiac Sign: Sagittarius Planet: The Moon Archangel: Sachiel and Gabriel Gemstone: Lapis lazuli and selenite Scent: Frankincense and jasmine   Deck used: Sakki-Sakki...

The Tarot 9’s in Love

The number 9 relates to completion, fruition, integrity, idealism, the unseen realms, life review, wisdom, crystallisation, transition, the Third Eye, visionary leadership and protection. The Tarot 9’s are a bit like the 7’s in that they often indicate solitude rather than companionship. This is by virtue of resonating with the Major Arcana Hermit energies.  Energetically, there is a strong resonance with the Third Eye. 9 of Wands. Like the 4 of Pentacles, this is a card of boundaries. Often it indicates a need to draw new boundaries after betrayals and other harsh life lessons. Depending on the spirit with which these lessons are greeted, the person represented by this card can either choose to display sound boundaries or become jaded and cynical which then leads to isolation and an unwillingness to share oneself with others. To the relationship, the 9 of Wands can be a card of great passion if well-dignified. It can mean that you have learned to respect each other’s differences and that you have reached a level of immunity against petty arguments. You are able to see the other person’s true nature and intentions and simply have no need to sweat the small stuff any more. On the other hand, if ill-dignified, the 9 of Wands could mean that one or both of you are constantly walking on eggshells around the other.  There could be a tendency to take everything personally and lash out. Sexually, and of course going back to the upright or well-dignified card meaning, this can be a card of great passion and transcendence in the sexual experience. The kundalini life force is channelled to cause a third eye explosion during the climax. To a single person, this is not usually a card of hooking up with another person (depending a bit on surrounding cards of course) but could be seen more as an indication to take stock of the past and make sure that lessons are integrated without cynicism as a byproduct. If the lessons are integrated successfully, there is great strength and visionary ability with this card and it is not likely that the Seeker will settle for anything less than they deserve next time. 9 of Swords. A card of worry, anxiety and despair. This is what I like to call ‘the card of the looping mind.’  The mind starts to loop when we are unwilling or unable to face our own shadow and instead choose to blame others and outer circumstance for our problems. That’s not to say that outer circumstances never play a role in our lives – of course they do. However, the 9 of Swords type person often fails to take action because of indecision and self-doubt. Nothing is done about the situation as they feel completely disempowered to move on. This card is a bad sign for the relationship. One or both of you could...
