Pass Me the Cup of Bliss!

Posted in Aces, Daily Inspiration, Tarot Minor Arcana | 2 comments

“Now may every living thing, young or old, weak or strong, living near or far, known or unknown, living or departed or yet unborn, may every living thing be full of bliss.” ― The Dhammapada The Ace of Cups is the bliss of unconditional love that so few of us know how to contain for extended periods of time. Because to contain it we must wish it upon every single living being. Bliss is not something we can only experience more of once we realise deeply and live the reality that we all belong to each other. In a Tarot reading, the Ace of Cups signifies a new emotional beginning and an opening of the heart. It can mean falling in love, but whether or not it will lead to reciprocal love and an actual relationship is not clear yet. However, it can also signify deep and lasting devotion in a reading where the seeker has learned to contain unconditional love for all living beings. This is the person who has learned to live in a continuous state of bliss and who is truly blessed. Such a person touches the souls of others without having to say much. Their complete acceptance of every single soul makes their presence healing. Affirmation: “I accept that we all belong to each other and open my heart to love every living being unconditionally.” Ace of Cups Prayer Dear Mother-Father God (or whichever higher power you acknowledge), thank you for passing me the cup of bliss. Holy Spirit, help me to wish every living being well today. Flow through me so that all I touch may feel your healing touch. So mote it be! A Deck Interview with the Mary-El Tarot

Before re-publishing this post (originally found on tarotize.com) in August 2015, I added the image above to give you a better idea of what the cards are actually like and to be the ‘featured image.’ It is one of the luxuries you can afford when you go back over old posts… Why not, eh? Start of original post from 2012 —-> First of all, a thousand million apologies for the poor picture quality. The wonderful camera I have been using the past few months has gone AWOL and I’m back to using my little old digital camera which is very close to giving up the ghost.   The Mary-El Tarot  © 2012 by Mary White, Schiffer Publishing  Ltd However, this deck interview is not a way for me to show off a new deck (go HERE to view the stunning artwork). I’m doing this deck interview to connect with the spirit of the deck and to give the deck a voice… so without further ado… My Deck Interview with the Mary-El 1. Describe yourself in three words Full on emotional (10 of Cups)  2. How would your best friend describe you using only three words?  Honest, too honest (The Tower)  3. What gift do you bring?  I help you access the gate of your deepest desire to change your thoughts and open that gate. With my help, you will be able to not just open the gate but to transform the desire itself and level up emotionally and intellectually. (8 of Swords)  4. What do you expect in return? I expect you to hold the highest vision of yourself as a vessel for grace to be continuously filled, re-filled and overflowing. (8 of Disks)  5. How can you help me serve? I’m here to show you strength and determination that you didn’t even know you possessed. I’m here to show you that sometimes you have to howl to get the attention of the Universe. (7 of Wands) 6. Is there anything else you would like to tell me about yourself? I won’t let you forget. who. you. truly. are. To say that I’m blown away by this deck is an understatement. I have cried more than once today, looking through the cards and trying a couple of the spreads in the companion book. The Past Life reading I did with these cards was hugely helpful and relevant to a current situation. There is so much magick and power in the Mary-El that it warrants a life-time of study. It’s a deck to journey with and if you come to it with a heavy heart, you will be allowed to cry… You’ll feel seen and validated. I wouldn’t use this deck in readings for someone who is not looking for deep emotional transformation. And I’ll remember to bring a box of Kleenex! Some of you who read my interview with the Universal Fantasy (which...

The Aces in Love

The Aces in Love

The Aces are new beginnings, seeds, gifts, opportunities for abundance and an influx of powerful energy. Often they enter our lives out of the blue and sometimes nothing becomes of them. Other times they are the beginning of a wonderful new connection or a fresh new start in an existing situation. So what do they mean specifically in a reading about matters of the heart? The Ace of Wands is a spark of passionate energy. This is the ultimate mojo card. If you get this card in a love reading, you can count on at least one person being powerfully attracted to the other. Charisma abounds. However, a spark is a thing of the moment. This is something that could fizzle and die if not acted on. Depending on surrounding cards or if it comes out reversed, it could be a superficial attraction, lacking in-depth and intimacy. The Ace of Wands is the root of our very life force energy. Therefore it relates to sexual energy in both males and females but for obvious reasons it relates more to male virility and sexual health. A reversal could indicate impotence. Intimate moments signified by the Ace of Wands will be passionate and physically vigorous but may not always lead to a deepening of emotional bonds. They are about being in the moment.   The Ace of Cups is often found in a reading at the start of a great new love relationship but it could simply meaning falling in love. For reciprocal love we want the 2 of Cups. The highest aspect of this card is the gift of unconditional love, which is a chance for the divine to shine through us. This is the most emotionally intimate of all the Aces, relating directly to an outpouring of love. If you find this card in a reading and know that it relates to how you feel about someone, you may want to make sure they feel the same as you are likely to get powerfully hooked on them if you ‘go there.’ Reversed or ill dignified, it can indicate withholding affection or devotion. This is also a symbol of conception, heralding a pregnancy, especially together with The Empress or The Sun.   When the Ace of Swords shows up in a relationship reading for a potential date, you can expect stimulating conversation and being introduced to new concepts and ideas. If it shows up in a reading for an existing relationship, there is a chance to change the way you communicate for the better. It could also mean that someone is thinking about the relationship in a new and different way. Reversed or ill dignified it signifies break-downs in communication or withholding of affection the form of words. It can even mean that someone is mean and sharp-tongued. In intimate situations, the Ace of Swords could mean using language to...
