Dating the Knight of Cups

Posted in Knights | 2 comments

Looking to date an über romantic guy? Need your man to compose his own love poems for you? The Knight of Cups is the guy for you! This is the man who as a young boy used to include a handwritten poem in the Mother’s Day card. He is the one who used to get scolded for daydreaming by his teachers, but who stunned the very same teachers with his imaginative art, writing or musical composition. Often quite shy with the opposite sex, he’s a later bloomer when it comes to dating and getting to any sort of ‘base.’ However, once he gets a handle on lurve, he’s firmly stuck on romance. He’ll never be single for any longer period of time after that. And if he does have singledom enforced on him, he’s constantly yearning for and jonesing after the ever-elusive ‘One.’ Because of his obsession with escaping reality, he may sometimes turn to drugs for relief from the scourge of day-to-day living. If you’re dealing with the addicted Knight of Cups, you may want to look at  8 Types of W*ankers instead. Pros: He loves romance and won’t spare any trick in the book to woo you. He is creative and may well inspire you to become more creative too. He is passionate and this extends to the bedroom. Very, very steamy sessions ahead with this guy! He is usually faithful. Cons: Can be emotionally obsessed with the object of his desire. Jealousy can be a very real problem with this guy. His escapist tendencies and artistic temperament can make it difficult for him to hold down a job. If he’s not up, he’s down and if he’s not down, he’s up. There’s very little middle ground and this is something you could potentially find emotionally draining. Type of date he prefers: A moonlit beach. He’s brought his guitar, of course. Time from your first date until you introduce him to your parents: About a week if you’re ‘The One.’ He’s probably already moved in by then too. And yes, he’ll be the one moving in with you – straight from his mum’s (no matter what age he is). Wedding style: Careful. This one could turn into a bit of a groomzilla. He’ll want full control of all the artistic elements of the wedding! Type of dad he would make: A natural bard and storyteller, your children will find him absolutely fascinating. Nobody but nobody tells a better bedtime story! Just don’t count on him to remember everything on the list when he goes shopping. He probably left the list itself on the dresser rummaging around for his car keys. It’s a bummer if he forgets to buy nappies but the kids will survive. His best match: The Queen of Pentacles as a) she keeps him grounded and b) already bought an extra pack of nappies on a buy-one-get-one-free offer the week before. His worst match: The Queen of...

Damage Control Relationship Tarot Spread

Was it the shadow of the eclipse or maybe Mercury retrograde? Whatever the excuse is, you messed up bad. Your temper got the better of you and you hurt the one you love the most. They hurt you right back and now you are reeling with pain. And it doesn’t matter who started it… Relax and know that it happened for a reason. This shit needed to shift in time for the Shift… so it came out. Collateral damage was unavoidable. Forgive yourself and do the Damage Control Relationship Tarot Spread instead of wallowing.   1. That shit you said or did (if you’re like me you probably maxed out on both words and doing stupid shit) that caused damage to the relationship 2. The underlying reason for your action (indicates what has come up for healing) 3. How this put a wedge between you and your beloved 4. What reaction this triggered in your beloved 5. How he retaliated or withdrew  6. Grace to be invoked from on High (pull an Angel card for this one) 7. Your best possible conciliatory move 8. Most likely outcome SAMPLE READING 1. Death. The preemptive strike card in this position. End things before the other person gets a chance to do so. Say something so repulsive that they have no other option but to cut you out completely. I find it works every time. 2. The Queen of Coins. An indication that the real reason for the preemptive strike was a fear of a need to be nurtured not being met. The Queen of Coins is the Earth Mother. She always has a warm hug to go with the hot meal for those who have been left out in the cold – especially children and animals. 3. The Emperor. The heavy artillery was brought out and there is no going back once that has been done. Power dynamics were engaged in and fragile love was trampled by heavy military boots. 4. The Wheel of Fortune. Perhaps he thought it was all a trick by fate… Some kind of sick joke. Or perhaps he thought the timing was horribly off. Either way, he felt as if it was out of his hands. 5. The Queen of Swords. With her help he finished things swiftly. The bridges were burned. Adieu. 6. Conciliatory grace from on High would be found in Heart-to-Heart conversations. Quite aptly in the Romance Angels card though, she is the one doing the talking and he listens quietly. Pray for grace to open the channels of communication. 7. The Devil. More shadow work ahead before the smoke clears. Most likely without the grace aspect. This is harsh, brutal and probably necessary. Karmic even. 8. 9 of Cups. Joy restored. A completion of a cycle of lessons about the power of emotions. Phew! Blessed be!...

DIY Love Lyrics Tarot Spread

DIY Love Lyrics Tarot Spread

Sometimes we know that something is slightly off kilter in the relationship but we don’t even know which questions to ask to make it right again. If you have a music app like which randomises songs, you can use it as an oracle to make your own Tarot spread. The randomly chosen songs can help you focus on the area of relating that is causing problems. In order for this to work you have to suspend analytical thought for a while and surrender to synchronicity. Along a strictly logical line of thought, it may not make much sense to allow every third song on your Spotify love songs playlist tell you what needs fixing in your love life. When I tried this for myself, the Great Oracle of Spotify gave me 1. Could’ve been – Tiffany (regret about what could have been) 2. All or nothing – Westlife (what I am holding back because of this regret) 3. Left outside alone – Anastacia (how this is causing me to isolate myself) After the first three songs, I felt that the final and fourth song would provide the key/resolution since there was such a clear theme in the first three songs. 4. Just let me hold you – Paolo Nutini (acceptance) These four songs provided me with four very clear card positions. By the way, there is no set number of songs/cards for this spread and you can lay the cards out in any pattern you wish, choosing the deck you feel most drawn to work with. I worked with the Voyager Tarot deck and chose to lay the four cards out like this:   1. Nurturing – Three of Worlds: What I have regrets about is not receiving the nurturing support I felt I needed and deserved. 2. The Star: What I am holding back is hope and grace. 3. Fear – Seven of Cups: I’m creating more and more things to be terrified about so that I can live inside my own bubble – because (apparently) that’s less scary (to the ego) than to stop isolating myself. The 3’s are all connected to The Empress/Mother archetype, which means that the real root of the problem can probably found there. Not so strange considering early childhood abandonment. 4. Oppression – Five of Wands: What I need to do to allow myself to be held again is to break free from my own oppressive thoughts and replace them with complete acceptance. The limitations imposed by my mother’s abandonment do not live anywhere except in my mind. My life force energy longs to stretch beyond those limitations. The Five of Wands is a card of restrained passion. The fire of Leo is frozen and restricted by the cold rings of Saturn. The answer is really simple. I just need to release my old fears and let someone hold me. The hurt, abandonment, lies and collateral damage...

Top 10 Tarot Cards & Combinations for Reconciliation

Top 10 Tarot Cards & Combinations for Reconciliation

Someone asked me on Twitter the other day what the main cards for reconciliation were. When doing a reading to see if reconciliation with an ex will be possible, the following cards and combinations usually indicate success: The 2 of Cups, is always a good sign of reconciliation, especially together with The Lovers, The Sun or The World (very ‘happily ever after’). This is the ultimate ‘love reciprocation’ card.         The 3 of Cups means ‘happy days’ again – especially together with the 2 of Cups. However, watch out for more 3’s in the same spread, as this could indicate that he will be back but you will not be his only love interest. Although not a commitment card in its own right, together with The Hierophant, it can indicate marriage.         The 6 of Cups can indicate the return of a soul mate lover, especially together with the Ace of Cups (in which case it will either be first time you meet in this incarnation or you get a chance to have fresh new start), 2 of Cups, the 4 of Wands, The Sun and The World.         The 10 of Cups as the outcome is a sure sign that you will settle down and bring up a family together, especially together with the 4 of Wands and the 10 of Pentacles. This is a case of your lover returning because he realises he really wants a future with you.           The 4 of Wands is the ‘moving in together card’ and therefore it is likely that your reconciliation leads to settling down together, or one of you moving back to be with the other person. This is especially true with any of the Cups cards mentioned above.           The Hierophant is a card of commitment so if you’ve been dating a commitment-phobic and this card shows up in the future, surrounded by other cards indication reciprocal love and partnership, you will win his heart for good in the end.           The Lovers can indicate that he chooses to come back. Look for the Hierophant in the same reading to indicate that he also chooses to finally commit. The Lovers together with two or more 3’s indicates a continuation of a love triangle.           Justice together with Temperance and the 2 of Cups can indicate that a marriage heading toward divorce will be restored. If Justice is found in the future position, together with The Hierophant and/or the 3 of Cups, wedding bells will chime even though it may seem it would take a miracle (they do happen, you know!).         Temperance can indicate a lover returning after healing of emotional wounds. If the 3 of Swords is present in the past and...
