Looking for ‘The One’ online can be a bit like looking for a needle in a haystack. And I speak from experience when I tell you to expect the unexpected on those nerve-wracking first dates. It may have been more than a decade ago but I remember it well. It was some of those dates that were filled with less than pleasant surprises that led to the creation of the Internet Dating Vetting Tarot Spread.

While things have moved on with technology, most people’s motives haven’t evolved much in the decade since I last did the online dating thingy. People still don’t always look like their profile picture in real life, for instance. I’m guessing that has gotten even worse now with all the AI-enhanced images available.
So forewarned is forearmed, right? Will he turn out to be a couple of inches shorter or a hundred pounds heavier than stated in the profile? Does he have personal hygiene issues? Is he older than declared? Will he be late or maybe even a no-show? Is he out to get a leg over while the missus watches the kids at home even though he stated he was single on the profile?
You really do need to have your wits about you. The good news is… the Tarot cards can help! They can act as a trusted friend who vets the person before you even decide to meet up for a quick coffee.
The Internet Dating Vetting Tarot Spread

Shows you why this person is dating/what their intentions are for internet dating.
It can show if they are ready for a new relationship and if their intentions are honourable or if they’re just looking for random booty calls. Not all people who claim to look for a committed relationship mean what they say.
2.What attracts them to me
Shows why the other person feels drawn to you based on your dating website profile.
3. The Date
Indicates how the date will turn out
4. Higher reason/karmic link
Shows the spiritual reason for why you are attracted through the ether, or what you could learn from this. It might also show if there is a karmic/past life link with this person. Look out for the 6 of Cups or Majors in this position as a clue to whether or not you have a past life connection, and what the nature of your connection was.
5. Hopes and fears
Shows possible hopes or fears the other person might have concerning the date.
6. Advice
This card shows you what to be mindful of and/or what the best approach would be on the date.
