The Jupiter & Saturn Yes-No Tarot Technique

Those of you who read my review of the 2015 UK Tarot Conference may recall that I shared a yes-no Tarot technique from one of our sessions with Susyn Blair Hunt. May main problem with that particular technique was that it was based on a yes/no division that created a no bias, since there are more Court Cards than Majors. I wanted an even number and different criteria to work with… so my wheels have been spinning for a couple of days and this morning inspiration struck.

Why not create an Angelic yes-no Tarot technique with only the Saturn (No) and Jupiter (Yes) cards in the deck? It seems natural since Saturn indicates limitations and Jupiter is a signal to expand. First I contemplated using only the five Minors for each but in the end it felt more complete to include the Majors too. These are the Tarot cards I choose to work with for a Jupiter Saturn yes-no Tarot readings:

How to Do a Yes-No Tarot Reading with the Jupiter & Saturn Technique

• Separate all 14 Jupiter and Saturn cards out of the deck.
• Invoke the assistance of Archangels Sachiel (Jupiter) and Cassiel (Saturn).
• Ask your yes-no question.
• Lay out three cards if the question is simple and five if you feel you may need more information.
• Count to see if it is a ‘yes’ or a ‘no.’
• Look for visual clues. The central card shows the main focus of the energies with regards to this question. As you can see, all the Jupiter/Yes cards aren’t positive and vice versa, so any challenges will show quite clearly if you read with a deck that has scenic number cards.
• Write your answer down.
• Give thanks to the Archangels for their assistance.

The picture at the top of this spread is a sample reading I did about a business question I had. I wanted to know if it was a good idea to move forward with this idea in its current format. Only the first card is a No/Saturn card and the rest are Yes/Jupiter. I was particularly pleased that the central card shows expansion in business (Jupiter in Capricorn). The reservations are shown in the first two cards, 5 of Wands (lack of confidence) and 8 of Swords (a tendency to overthink things). The indication is that once I get going (2 of Pentacles) and build momentum, the confidence will follow. The final card represents what I wish to achieve in a very real way but I am not at liberty to discuss the details of the potential outcome yet.

If, for any reason, you are not happy with the answer, you can always call on Sachiel and/or Jupiter for further guidance and insights. Remember that the Angels have our best interests at heart and that we always get what we need if not what we want. The Angels can help us with a shift into alignment with Higher Will so that we can see what they see.

I was born with Saturn (11th) and Jupiter (5th) in direct opposition, so I can easily feel the push and pull between these two influences… and more importantly, appreciate that both are necessary. Without the limiting influence of Saturn, I could very easily let my Jupiter in Scorpio rule my life in ways that are not always healthy. And without Jupiter acting as a counter-lever to my Saturn, I might very well find myself a complete recluse.

If you struggle with sensing these two energies in your body, I suggest spending some time getting to know them. When do you feel really expansive and as if you can do anything? Where in the body is this expansive feeling located? When circumstances or your own insecurities limit you, what happens to your energy field? How does this affect your physical body? How does it affect your mind? Do you adjust or do you seek to transcend? Sometimes one response is more appropriate than the other. The wisdom of Archangel Cassiel is to know when to use which.

Anyhoo, I really feel this way of doing a yes-no Tarot reading works for me…
