7 Facets of the Tarot Justice Card

The Tarot Justice card got bumped up from number 8 in the Medieval Marseille Tarot to number 11 in the traditional Waite Smith Tarot, published by the Rider company in 1910. The reason for changing the order of the cards was to make for a better fit with the order of zodiac signs. Justice is the perfect fit for Libra and Libra needs to follow Virgo (The Hermit), so I’m happy with this order but I know many Tarotists who prefer the original order of the Majors…

1. The two most prominent symbols in the Tarot Justice card are the sword and the scales. The sword symbolises truth and the scales are the scales of justice. The two pillars on either side of Lady Justice in the RWS Tarot are made of the same material as the throne in the Emperor card and they symbolise civilization and order.

2. The two most prominent colours are red and yellow. Red symbolises passion and yellow the intellect. In the sphere of justice passion and the intellect have the potential to be brought into perfect harmony.

3. The astrological correspondence according to the Golden Dawn is Libra, ruled by Venus aka ‘the Lesser Benefic.’  Libra energy appreciates beauty, truth and harmony. On the flip side, it can be very indecisive due to a fear of upsetting the status quo or ‘rock the boat.’ It is the most diplomatic of the 12 Zodiac signs.

4. The highest spiritual potential of the Tarot Justice card is to learn discernment and to seek harmony with all the choices we make.

5. When the Justice  shows up as the challenge, you might ask yourself: ‘Is this situation fair,’ ‘What can I do to bring harmony to this relationship?, ‘Are my chances of winning this court case good?,’ ‘Do I need to fact check this before I make a decision?,’ and ‘How can I best state my case to receive justice?’

6. The Justice card corresponds with Archangel Anael, ruler of Venus and Fridays, as well as with Archangel Raguel, angel of Justice. Invoke Archangel Raguel for help with any legal issues and Archangel Anael for help with relationship harmony.

7. On a day when the Justice energy runs strong, you could…

  • Weigh your options carefully and study up before making an important choice
  • Speak your truth to receive justice
  • Research/fact check something that tips the scales of justice
  • File a court case
  • Get called to jury duty
  • Read the fine print
  • Sign a contract
  • File for divorce (Rx)
  • Get married
  • Speak to a judge
  • Hesitate (Rx)
  • Make a bad judgement call (Rx)
  • Decide to start Law studies
  • Seek a diplomatic solution
  • Be a mediator
  • Be concerned about relationship harmony
  • Feel a need for fairness
  • Choose your words carefully
  • Be very discerning
  • Suffer with symptoms from your kidneys (Rx)
  • Have a urinary tract infection (Rx)
  • Seek legal counsel
  • Receive just deserts
  • Experience an unfair court ruling (Rx)
  • Achieve perfect homeostasis (balance your bodily functions)
  • Meet someone with a lot of Libra energy

The Frideborg Tarot Justice Card

Frideborg Tarot Justice Card

Where justice is denied, where poverty is enforced, where ignorance prevails, and where any one class is made to feel that society is an organized conspiracy to oppress, rob and degrade them, neither persons nor property will be safe.

  1. This is my card of the year!
    2018+22+5=2045= 11
And its the card of 2018
Does that make everything regarded to the card double so strong or important? Like if I lie(I don’t but pretend that) about say a loveaffair and get caught will I be punished worse then if it was another year card or another my year card?
And I don’t mean by my partner cause that depends on how he feels about me and his way of dealing with stuff part but by society, other friends, ?
Or maybe its better to pretend I steal something, or tell a secret or broke s promise Do I get a harder punishment because of the double Justicecard (both by the court and people around me) or will it be the same even if one card was diffrent?
Hope you understand how I mean.
Happy New Year and lots of love
    /Jess

Happy New Year, Jess! Not necessarily. It depends on what lessons are on offer and how much you are willing to learn as well. Free will always plays in. I suggest working with the energy proactively rather than seeing as merely a predictive indicator of what you can expect… So… tuning into the energy of the eleventh Arcanum, which of those qualities do you wish to manifest or master? You can work with the flow that way instead and I do believe it is more productive way of viewing your year card. Love, Lisa

      1. Thank you for your answer. I will use Justice to make harmony and turn the reversed kidney to health.
I was just curious of karma balance and couldn’t found a good thing to have as an example if it was like a universal law that same yearcard doubled the outcome. Hm why didn’t I came up with that simple way to ask instead of that long text
        Love Jess
