Tarot Card of the Day Friday 6 May
“Solitude is fine but you need someone to tell that solitude is fine.”
― Honoré de Balzac
We are coming up to the weekend and all of a sudden, plans may change. Especially those of you who made plans to meet up with friends may have second thoughts. Perhaps you’re already jonesing after a pyjama day on the living room couch.
The Hermit in you craves some me-time, and there is nothing wrong with that. Just have a little think about why you are choosing your own company. Are you maybe just being lazy? Or do you genuinely need to spend time in solitude? In the case of the latter (and be honest with yourself), why?
Because when the Hermit demands me-time, it’s not to watch Netflix. It’s to do some serious study or even to master a new meditation practice. This archetype is not keen on wasting time so if the plan is no plan which ends up as Netflix + chill, you are better off meeting up with your friends. At least you may end up learning some things through them, as well as strengthening bonds.
If the Hermit is truly calling you, you may do well to spend much of the weekend ahead contemplating how you can best be of service to humanity. This is how this archetype acts as a guide for us at the highest level.
What to Do On a Hermit Day
The Hermit wants you to grow in wisdom and understanding. Spend the day reading, taking notes, listening to relevant podcasts, and writing. Meditate, pray and spend time in contemplation. Seeing others is okay too but be prepared to show up as the Wise Teacher in one way or another. Or perhaps you are the one receiving the wisdom from someone embodying this archetype more fully.
Either way, a good teacher always learns from his students.
The fire in the Hermit’s lantern is spiritual truth. This truth can be transmitted wordlessly as well. In fact, that is how all transmissions take place in the Higher Dimensions. When you find a true Master like that, you learn by absorbing their energy. In silence.
