Tarot Card of the Day Wednesday 4 May 2022
“You’ve got to think about big things while you’re doing small things so that all the small things go in the right direction.”
— Alvin Toffler
The Temperance card is sometimes (rather lazily IMO) said to mean patience. That is not the true meaning of this card at all, not even on the surface. (The Hanged Man is the Major Arcana card I would more associate with patience.) On the surface, the card means what it says on the card title, i.e. temperance or moderation.
Temperance is needed on the middle path which is also known as the path of Christ Consciousness or the Christ stream. Can this mean that we also have to be patient? Of course it can! But it’s still not the meaning of this card. You have to be patient with all the lessons in the Major Arcana.
On this path we engage in heart and soul alchemy, transmuting lower energies into love, peace, compassion and harmony. This means that we have to have a vision for the work we do. And this is why Temperance is the card corresponding with Sagittarius, the Teacher and Visionary.
In order to ascend, we need to make sure that what we do aligns with the more elevated perspective of unity consciousness than the polarised context of the 3D world around us. This is tricky and demands constant tempering of our thoughts and actions.
As soon as we are pulled out of balance and start judging, we must actively engage in the process of soul and heart alchemy. This is an ongoing process that never ends. The only thing that changes is that how exactly we do the work depends on what spiritual path we are on and which spiritual or religious technologies and practices we have chosen to engage in.
What to Do On a Temperance Day
On a day when Temperance comes into focus, spend some time journaling about your vision for achieving the highest possible timeline for yourself. Also, contemplate the teachings of spiritual visionaries that can help you achieve this. Finally, think about how you can inspire others to co-create the highest possible timeline for humanity.
Angelic Tarot Correspondences for Temperance
The Archangel corresponding with today’s card is the Angel of Temperance. You can invoke this angel any time you need to start feeling more positive and optimistic about your spiritual path. If you have lost your vision for where you are heading, this angel can restore it. The Angel of Temperance will always help with the process of heart and soul alchemy. All you have to do is ask!
