“The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing.”
~ Albert Einstein
Continuing to question events, beliefs and the status quo is how we stay young. It can also cause some people who are emotionally attached to their beliefs great grief, so it is important that we consciously seek to ask questions in such a way that we do not cause undue offense.
Pages are young people or students and the Page of Swords is the most inquisitive student of all. This is the child who will not stop asking ‘Why…?’ and who can easily drive a parent to start answering ‘Because!’ out of sheer frustration.
If this bright young person is met with open-mindedness and taught that it is OK to ask questions, even about the things that could potentially make older people who are more set in their ways uncomfortable, then they may well grow into our future scientists, literary geniuses and inventors. Conversely, if the gift is not properly encouraged or used inappropriately, they may become the tabloid journalists and gossip mongers of this world.
Affirmation: “I ask all the right questions in a spirit of loving kindness.”
