Tarot Spread for the 2020 Mercury Rx in Pisces & Aquarius

I see no point whatsoever in catastrophising about any Mercury retrograde episode. Sure, some of them can be challenging… but to me, the three-week retrograde is usually an opportunity to dive deeper in whatever area of the zodiac it accentuates and whichever Houses are involved on a personal level. To make the most of this Mercury retrograde in Pisces (17 Feb-4 March) and Aquarius (from 5 March-10 March), do take a look at which of your Houses it moves through.

Mercury Rx in Pisces gives us an opportunity to finetune our intuition. Going within for guidance comes naturally to Pisces and you could find that you are able to tap insights that are nothing short of mindblowing over the next few weeks. The drawback could be that you find it difficult to stay grounded, so an extra dose of self-care in the form of a daily grounding practice is highly recommended.

Mercury Rx in Aquarius is about figuring out how we fit into the bigger picture of our social circles and how we can move forward in greater unity and harmony. Aquarius rules groups of people and humanitarian pursuits. However, Aquarius also rules technology, so those of you who link Mercury with gadgetry gone wrong, should probably make sure back-ups are in place for everything during this Rx period.

1-3. Dreams, day dreams and imaginings – I read these three completely intuitively, allowing a story to develop based on the imagery. If you find this difficult, imagine looking at the images as if you have the of making up a fairytale for a child of about six. Here we have the 5 of Cups, 2 of Wands and the 8 of Swords. I see a young male here on a quest to liberate a young maiden who has been turned into a swan and trapped on an island by an evil wizard. Luckily, the hero has learned some magick too and in the 8 of Swords, we see how he has transformed into a robin, hovering above the trapped swan maiden, reminding her that she has wings and that she can escape her trap if only she chooses to use them.

Those of you who are familiar with Swan Lake can tell where I borrowed inspiration for this wee Tarot fairytale but it was the imagery which triggered the memory of a beloved ballet storyline. I need to be mindful of this fairytale in the weeks ahead because it will be relevant to my experiences somehow, though (in true Piscean fashion) I don’t know how yet.

4. Main theme for Mercury Rx in PiscesThe Hierophant: Traditional values and spiritual teachings are being revisited to see what can be salvaged. As usual, I teach what I find.

5. Main theme for Mercury Rx in AquariusQueen of Swords: A balanced and productive state of mind can be achieved during this period. A good time to begin a writing project based on what I learned during the Mercury in Pisces Rx period.

6. Area of life likely to be most impactedKnight of Wands: Without a doubt this concerns my creativity. Romance or travel adventures are not likely options in my case (though they could be in a reading for someone else  and I’m open to surprises from the Universe).
