Dear fellow misfits, what the Captive Man is here to teach us is that the poor fit with certain circumstances and people in our lives is due to being ‘glamoured’ into these circumstances and relationships… And there is nobody but ourselves to hold accountable for the poor choices we made in the past that makes it impossible to breathe freely here and now.
All that matters now is that we walk away from the choice that aligned us with ego rather than Higher Self. Once we have done that we can begin analysing why we made the choice we made so we won’t have to make a similar choice in the future. Trying to make sense of it while you are still in it can be a bit of a head f*ck if you pardon my French…
Sometimes we do get clarity before we walk away but more often than not, it takes walking away for the brain fog to clear since the situation/relationship we find ourselves in is toxic when this card shows up. Eventually we do need to get a handle on the triggers that make us vulnerable to subjecting ourselves to less than ideal conditions or friends/partners. Doing so means finding the temptations and pay-offs for the things that hold us captive.
The other thing we can do if we are not quite ready to walk away is take a break and remove ourselves from the location or the person in question.
Don’t lay in the quiet with your heart pounding like a trapped, frightened creature. For your own precious and beautiful life, and for those around you — seek help or get out before it is too late. This is your wake-up call!
