This week, I felt guided to share a random image for the central theme and spiritual guidance. I tried Bibliomancy for the Friday week ahead forecast a couple of times and though the readings were spot on (for me at least), I’m getting that this wasn’t a popular choice. Maybe you are afraid that I’ve gone around the bend and am turning into some sort of religious nutter because I’ve been sharing Bible passages. Let me put your minds at ease: I’m not.
I’m very much still exploring and testing the limits of my beliefs. That said, I have a deep abiding love for Jesus Christ and count myself as a Follower of the Way. This is because I trust only what I know and have experienced for myself. Jesus is real – I have met him. This does NOT mean that I believe that the Bible is the only source of divine revelation (or that all of the Bible is divinely inspired). I see deep spiritual wisdom in the works of mystics from all traditions, and to me this is evidence that in Truth and Spirit, we are One – All paths are one Path.
The idea which holds it all together for me is the philosophical concept of Logos Spermatikos, which is one way of saying that the Logos (Christ) permeates all that is in all directions of time-space.
(77) Jesus said, “It is I who am the light (that presides) over all. It is I who am the entirety: it is from me that the entirety has come, and to me that the entirety goes. Split a piece of wood: I am there. Lift a stone, and you (plur.) will find me there.” – Apocryphal Gospel of Thomas, saying 77
But enough of that… So instead of a passage of scripture, I decided to visit a random image generator and it came up with a picture of poppies. I’m not sharing that exact image since I believe it is copyrighted but I went to Pixabay and shared the one you see at the top of the post instead. Poppies feel ver apt for now. Besides the obvious Remembrance Day connection (if it feels like we are it war, it is because we are), poppy shows up to remind us of the following in the week ahead:
- To stay alert and awake. Opium (derived from the poppy) is a hallucinogenic and hypnagogic drug. Fake news has the same effect on many people right now. Fact check everything and go out of your way to find reliable news sources.
- Remember your values. What would you be willing to die for? If you haven’t found it yet, now’s the time!
- Maintain your equilibrium. Get plenty of rest and stand grounded (red flowers are connected with the root chakra)
Week Ahead Forecast
Mon-Tue: 2 of Pentacles. Expect things to get busy at the start of the week. Here is where a heads up about the importance of staying grounded comes in really handy. Go to bed early on Sunday night and make sure you get a good night’s sleep. You will be much better equipped to make tough decisions on the fly if you are well rested instead of sleep-deprived. Don’t sign anything until you have clarity about the consequences.
Wed-Thu: The Hierophant. Contact with official representatives from a big institution may unavoidable. Be flexible and adapt to the circumstances. Be like water, in the words of Bruce Lee. This is Fixed Earth energy and the other side will not yield but that doesn’t mean you can’t find a way around whatever you are up against. Never yield to corrupt authorities.
The Weekend: The Wheel of Fortune. Be alert and prepared to leap. An opportunity is likely to come your way but to make the most of it, you must act. Stay optimistic and centre yourself in prayer. If you are centred, you won’t miss the mark when you do take that leap, even if it is far outside your comfort zone!
The quint of the three Tarot cards above works out to 17 The Star so I want to end with this quote about Hope which I feel is a perfect match for the Star and can help us all to stay optimistic in these strange times:
Hope begins in the dark, the stubborn hope that if you just show up and try to do the right thing, the dawn will come. ~Anne Lamott
