7 Magickal Aromatherapy Baths

angelic aromatheraphy baths

When was the last time you had a healing or magickal bath? Allowing aromatherapy oils to soak in through the skin while you relax is a very efficient way of getting the best that each essential oil has to offer.

When you combine the natural healing ability of the essential oil with setting a specific intent and invoke some angelic assistance, you can also use the seven baths below for some lovely Angel Magick.

Rather than adding the essential oil straight to the bath, it is recommended that you mix it with a dispersing agent. Use one tablespoon grapeseed or almond oil, a ready-made dispersing oil blend or an unscented bubble bath. 3-10 drops of essential oil is usually enough. Trust your intuition to guide you to the right proportions. Before immersing yourself in a bath with an oil you have never tried before, it is always a good idea to do a skin sensitivity test with the diluted oil (1 drop in half a teaspoon of carrier oil).

Bonus Tip: You can also add organic apple cider vinegar with ‘mother’ to the bath oil mix for even greater health benefits. Organic apple cider vinegar helps draw out toxins from the skin and leaves the skin very smooth. Some even claim it reverses signs of aging, especially in combination with dry skin brushing.

Here are seven of my favourite healing and magickal baths…

* Rosemary and pine for sore muscles when you have been working out really hard or at the end of the day when you need to re-energise for an evening activity.

The corresponding Archangel is Azrael.

If you want to focus more on the spiritual/emotional aspect, pine is wonderful for clearing out the old to make room for the new, such as after a relationship has ended. Simply invoke the assistance of Archangel Azrael for this, using your own words.

* Geranium and rose for when you need to balance your hormone levels.

The corresponding Archangel is Anael.

Rose is wonderful for manifesting new love and geranium for relationship harmony. Call on the appropriate corresponding Angel for some added magick.

* Thyme and eucalyptus for when you feel a cold or flu coming on.

The corresponding Archangel is Camael for thyme and Anael for eucalyptus.

The spiritual effect of combining these two is to facilitate soul alchemy and integrating male/female energy. Say a prayer to Holy Mother-Father God (using your own words) as you prepare the bath and ask for the yin and yang within to become perfectly balanced.

* Frankincense and sandalwood for soothing, spiritual upliftment and grounding. This is a wonderful blend to use before meditating as it puts you in the right frame of mind. Frankincense is also wonderful for the skin tone.

The corresponding Archangels are Michael (frankincense) and Gabriel (sandalwood).

Use frankincense in the bath before performing solar magick and sandalwood before casting a lunar spell. As you prepare the bath, call on the assistance and protection of the corresponding Archangel.

*  German chamomile and lavender for stress relief and improved sleep.

The corresponding Archangel for lavender is Raphael and for chamomile it is Sachiel.

Both these oils are excellent for every level of your being and can induce a deep sense of serenity if you allow yourself to relax. Recite the serenity prayer by Reinhold Niebuhr as you prepare the bath:

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

*  Patchouli and ylang-ylang for increased libido… or rose and ylang-ylang – a better option if you do not enjoy the rather earthy aroma of patchouli.

The corresponding Archangel for patchouli is Cassiel and for ylang-ylang it is Asariel.

A cleansing bath with patchouli is excellent before casting prosperity spells and sex magick spells; ylang-ylang is perfect for spells to increase unconditional love or manifest new romance (think Ace of Cups). Invoke the assistance of the corresponding Archangel for your intended purpose as you prepare the bath.

* Bergamot and grapefruit or jasmine lift your mood and help combat depression/mood swings.

The corresponding Archangel for bergamot and grapefruit is Michael, angel of the Sun, and for jasmine it is the lunar Gabriel.

Use grapefruit for cleansing spells and jasmine become more spiritually receptive/psychic.

Be careful with jasmine if you are already wide open and/or going through an emotional crisis related to a spiritual awakening (aka a spiritual emergency). In this case it may better to work more with grounding oils such as frankincense which can also boost your mood, in addition to seeking help from your spiritual teacher/mentor.

Call on the assistance of Archangel Michael for a powerful bath that will help you cut any codependent cords and Archangel Gabriel for a magickal bath before doing any divination work.

Blessed Be!
