Hi, I’m Lisa Eddy, writer, Tarot practitioner and lifelong student of symbols, mysticism and the hidden patterns that shape our lives. I was born in Sweden and moved to the UK in 2002.
If you’ve found your way here, you’re probably less interested in being told what to think than in learning how to see more clearly. That has always been at the heart of my work.
Angelorum began as a place to explore Tarot, angels, astrology and the Western Mystery Tradition. Over time, my own spiritual centre of gravity has shifted. These days, I approach much of this work through Christian mysticism, Marian devotion and a growing emphasis on prayer, grace and discernment.
Tarot remains part of that conversation, but it is no longer the whole conversation.
My Path into Tarot and Mysticism
I grew up in Stockholm during the 1970s. My Sámi grandmother lived in the far north of Sweden, and school holidays with her left me with vivid memories of the midnight sun, mosquitoes and a sense that the world held more mystery than people usually admitted.
She was a natural seer who would sometimes put the kettle on moments before unexpected visitors arrived. She also read coffee grounds from the bottom of a cup after the coffee was gone.
At 15, I gave my first Tarot reading using a cardboard cut-out deck from a magazine. What emerged in the cards helped a friend find the courage to disclose the sexual abuse she was experiencing at the hands of her stepfather.
That experience shaped how I came to understand Tarot.
Its deepest value is not prediction.
It is the ability to witness what is true and to speak about it with courage, compassion and discernment.
In my late teens, I converted to Evangelical Christianity and developed a lasting love of Christ and Scripture. In my 20s, I converted to Catholicism. Around my first Saturn return, I stepped away from organised religion and began exploring the New Age and the Western esoteric tradition.
For many years, I tried to make all of those strands fit into one coherent spiritual system.
Eventually, I realised that what I was looking for was not a better system.
It was relationship.
Where I Am Now
My spiritual life is now rooted in Christian mysticism, with Marian devotion, prayer and grace playing an increasingly central role.
I still love Tarot, symbolism, angelology, astrology, sacred texts and the deep currents of the Western esoteric tradition. What has changed is the way I hold them.
I am less interested in constructing a total philosophy that explains everything and more interested in asking what helps me see clearly, pray honestly, love more deeply and remain attentive to God.
That shift has changed Angelorum too.
The site still contains many years of older material, including writing from periods when I understood spirituality very differently. I have no desire to erase the path that brought me here. Some posts are being rewritten, some are being retired and others remain as part of the record.
Angelorum is evolving with me.
How I Work
Tarot remains my primary symbolic language and one of the main foundations of this site.
Alongside it, I work with angelic traditions, astrology, mythology and the wider symbolic vocabulary of the Western esoteric tradition. I am especially interested in how these systems can support discernment rather than certainty, contemplation rather than control.
Over the years, I have shared this work through writing, teaching, professional readings and speaking at the UK Tarot Conference.
Angelorum is now where I bring together practical Tarot interpretation, angelology, astrology, Christian mysticism and symbolic study in a way that honours both the tradition behind the systems and the lived reality of faith.
I do not use Tarot to hand over authority to a deck of cards.
I use it to pay attention.
Writing Beyond Angelorum
In 2026, I launched LisaEddy.co.uk, my more personal writing space.
The blog there is becoming Her Immaculate Heart, a home for essays on faith, Marian devotion, Tarot, grief, healing, neurodivergence, creativity and the experience of changing one’s mind in public.
My Substacks continue alongside both sites. Thoughts at the Crossroads is more personal and reflective, while The Serpent & Dove Letters has a stronger devotional and Christian mystical focus.
Each space has its own purpose, but they all grow from the same questions.
What is true?
What is worth cultivating?
What brings us closer to God?
And what happens when we stop trying to force every mystery into a system?
Why Angelorum
I have been blogging since 2006, and Angelorum has changed many times over the years because I have changed too.
That is part of the point.
Spiritual life is not static. Neither is our understanding.
I no longer feel the need to present myself as someone who has arrived at a final answer. The labels have all gone into the bin. I am far more interested in writing from the place where faith, symbolism, experience and mystery meet.
Whether you come here for Tarot meanings, angelic correspondences, spiritual reflection or simply because you are curious, I hope Angelorum helps you look more carefully at the patterns already present in your life.
Not so that you can control what happens next.
So that you can meet it with clearer eyes and a more open heart.
Clarity emerges through learning how to see with the eyes of the heart.
