All the 2s in a Tarot deck can be indicative of the need to make a choice of some kind to get back into balance. The Judgement card is the ‘Super 2’ in the deck. Any choice you need to make when this card shows up will be life-changing and forces you to draw a line under the past. Judgement often shows up to signify making a life-altering choice that brings you into alignment with your Life Purpose.
The Angel depicted in RWS-style Judgement Tarot cards is Archangel Gabriel. He is also known as the Angel of the Annunciation. However, the Archangel that greets us after we cross over and who helps us with our Life Review is Jeremiel. Jeremiel can also help us with a review of our past while we are still alive. This can be especially beneficial before we make any important, life-altering choice so that we do not repeat past mistakes. Jeremiel can also guide us in better aligning with our spiritual calling/vocation by giving us a vision.
2+0=2
XX Judgement vibrates to the numbers 2+0=2 and is therefore related to both II The High Priestess and XI Justice. This triumvirate of cards applies to anyone on a 2 Life Path (i.e. your day+month+year of birth adds up a number that reduces to the single digit 2). The main lesson on a 2 Life Path is being of service for the Greater Good. Diplomacy and compassion are other important lessons on this path. 2s in general about choices and transcending duality.
Astrologically, Judgement corresponds to the Element of Fire according to the Golden Dawn system of correspondences. Later, after the discovery of Pluto in 1930, it was assigned Pluto as the planetary correspondence. When using the Healing Key spread any additional cards should be drawn from the suit of Wands (Fire).
There is a self-destructive (Plutonian) element to the Judgement Tarot card. (All cards have a shadow side.) If Judgement keeps occurring in readings for yourself, you may be called to look at a self-destructive pattern that continuously takes you out of alignment with your Higher Self. Ask yourself, ‘Am I on the right path for fulfilling my mission in this lifetime?’ Ill-dignified or reversed, it can also indicate secrets that have the power to alter the course of your destiny being kept from you.

Remedies to increase the energy of Judgement in your life
- You can make a tarot essence to harness and increase the energy of the Judgement card, using a card from the deck of your choice, along with any of the crystals above that you feel drawn to work with. There is plenty of information on the healing properties of each of the crystals available online
- Relax with the card under your pillow at the level of your crown chakra. Ask for guidance about your Life Purpose to start flowing into your conscious mind
- Take up a meditation practice with the intent of transforming your consciousness
- Make a life-changing decision
- Go on a Vision Quest
- Act out your own death and resurrection
- Write about where your soul was before you were born
- Spend some time getting to know Archangel Azrael (ruler of Pluto, a.k.a the Angel of Death)
To counteract or balance the influence of Judgement, you need to simply enjoy the moment, play, be lazy or shirk all responsibility. Alternatively, in order to balance a shadow aspect, change a negative psychological pattern into a positive one.

Massive life-changing events and choices are heralded by the Judgement Tarot card – stuff that most definitely impacts the relationship. The Angel depicted in the RWS Judgment card is Archangel Gabriel, the angel of the Annunciation.
As an outside force, it could be any major event that makes one of you have to make a difficult choice – one that will change your life and the relationship forever.
If the Judgement card describes an inner process, it either relates to dealing with Karmic issues or a process of aligning with your life purpose.
Judgement as a personality
If the Judgement card describes personality traits in a lover, it could mean that he or she has great persuasive powers and that having a sense of purpose is extremely important to him or her. This person often functions as a catalyst for change and awakening in others.
It could also mean that they are facing some life-changing choices. These choices could put the past firmly behind them. This, in turn, could work in your favour as it might give them a better perspective on life in general and on the relationship in particular. But, usually, it means that things are very much undecided for now.
The End?
One thing is certain, Judgement is the sign of a life-altering relationship. Very little will remain the same as this card signifies a catalyst for growth and awakening. If you are unable to roll with the punches, the concomitant turbulence could mean the end of the relationship. Also, if one of you awakens and the other doesn’t, this usually spells the end.
Surrounding cards will tell more. Judgement and Death, or Judgement and the 10 of Swords are usually tell-tale signs of a relationship coming to an end. Rest assured that it is for the best – you are simply not compatible anymore since one of you has outgrown the relationship.
Intimacy
The combination of the Fire element and the corresponding planet for Judgement, Pluto, is a potent mix in terms of passion and sexuality. If this card describes your intimate connection, you can count on intensity.
Single and looking
To a single person, if this card is about an upcoming relationship, it could mean that it will be a relationship with someone from a past life with whom you have a soul contract. This is especially true together with the 6 of Cups.

So interesting to me, Lisa. I have found myself reading some Northern Tradition poems, to the Goddess Hel, (about writing down all that you are ambivalent about)……..the tone and atmosphere attendant in the reading, is one of fear in HER presence………………She then tells you to drop ALL BUT ONE, and THAT ONE YOU MAKE KEEP AS A KEEPSAKE…for when you fall upon your true path, you would have been killed, had you not been traveling LIGHTLY. As a crone, I have been in transition for 15 years. Your lesson on the 2’s, was so welcome today. Synchronicity, definitely at work across the pond.
