The more I study the Shem Angels, the more I notice that their Tarot correspondences aren’t always obvious. Haaiah is a perfect example. An angel whose ministry centres on discretion, wise judgement and Divine order doesn’t seem to fit the 5 of Wands at first.

Yet perhaps that’s precisely the point.

Conflict has a way of exposing what lies beneath the surface. It reveals our motives, our attachments and the places where pride quietly slips behind our convictions. It shows us whether we’re genuinely seeking truth or simply trying to win.

Haaiah reminds us that wisdom isn’t measured by how loudly we speak or how many arguments we win. It is revealed in our ability to listen, discern and act with integrity. Sometimes the wisest response is to speak. Sometimes it is to remain silent. Knowing the difference is part of the angel’s gift.

Haaiah’s meditation mantra, האא (Heh-Ah-Ah), corresponds to the Tarot de Marseille triad of The Pope, The Magician and The Magician. The three Hebrew letters are Hei, Aleph and Aleph. I’m using the Sephardic Kabbalah Tarot de Marseille system taught by Michel Perez Rizzi in The 72 Names of God. What I love about this triad is that it shows how wisdom gradually becomes part of who we are. We recognise what is out of alignment, begin putting it right and keep going until the new way becomes second nature.

The Pope reminds us that wisdom begins with humility. Before we can change anything, we need the courage to admit that something isn’t working. Haaiah encourages us to pause and become teachable. Discernment doesn’t begin with having all the answers. It begins with asking better questions.

The first Magician marks the moment we decide to do something about it. We stop making excuses and start working with the tools already in our hands. Haaiah teaches that wisdom grows through action. Every small choice to act with integrity brings our lives into greater alignment.
