Yerathel, the Angel of Confidence, reminds us that true confidence doesn’t come from trying harder or believing in ourselves more. Instead, it grows naturally when we rediscover who we are and why we are here. Losing our way often means losing confidence too. Self-doubt creeps in. Every decision becomes harder. Before long, we’re looking to other people for reassurance instead of trusting the quiet wisdom of our own soul.

As the Shem Angel of confidence and divine protection, Yerathel helps us find our way back. By clearing away fear, old patterns and negative influences, he gently guides us towards our true purpose. Confidence returns as we begin walking that path again. It comes with the peace of knowing we’re heading in the right direction.

The name is most commonly transliterated as Yerathel, though you may also encounter the spelling Jerathel in older books and different esoteric traditions. Both refer to the same angel, whose name is derived from the Hebrew ירת.

From Yerathel’s metaphysical correspondences and Psalm to the Tarot de Marseille triad and a practical five-card Tarot spread, this guide explores the many ways you can work with the twenty-seventh angel of the Shem HaMephorash.

6 of Wands Angelic Tarot Card Meanings Keywords and Correspondences

Yerathel and the 6 of Wands

The Six of Wands is one of the easier Tarot correspondences to understand. Both the card and Yerathel speak of confidence, success and moving forward with purpose. Yet there is a subtle difference between confidence that comes from the ego and confidence that grows from knowing you’re divinely aligned with your purpose.

That’s where Yerathel comes in.

When we’ve lost our sense of purpose, even the smallest decisions can feel overwhelming. We hesitate and second-guess ourselves. This, in turn, makes us vulnerable to the opinions and expectations of others. Yerathel helps us reconnect with our true path so that confidence becomes the natural result of walking it.

The Six of Wands traditionally depicts a victorious rider returning home after battle. While recognition and achievement are certainly part of its meaning, the deeper victory is an inner one. We become who we were created to be. We stop seeking approval and begin living from conviction.

Yerathel reminds us that genuine success isn’t measured by applause or status. It comes from remaining faithful to our calling, even when the road ahead feels uncertain. When we walk that path with courage, victory has a way of taking care of itself.

Yerathel’s Tarot de Marseille Triad

Yerathel’s meditation mantra, Yoh-Reh-Tah (ירת), corresponds to the Tarot de Marseille triad of Wheel of Fortune, Judgement and The Fool. The three Hebrew letters are Yod, Resh and Tav. I’m using the Sephardic Kabbalah Tarot de Marseille system taught by Michel Perez Rizzi in The 72 Names of God. What strikes me most about this triad is that it tells the story of finding our way home. We recognise that we’ve drifted off course. We awaken to our true purpose. Then we step forward with renewed faith and confidence.

Yod — X Wheel of Fortune

The Wheel of Fortune reminds us that life is always changing. Sometimes we move with those changes. At other times, we become stuck in patterns that no longer serve us. Yerathel helps us recognise when we’ve wandered away from our true purpose. That moment of recognition is the first step towards real transformation.

Resh — XX Judgement

Judgement is the moment of awakening. We hear the call to become who we were created to be. Old regrets begin to lose their grip as we gain a clearer sense of direction. Yerathel encourages us to leave behind self-doubt and trust that every sincere step towards the Highest Good is met with Divine support.

Tav — 0 The Fool

The Fool takes the first step on a new journey. It isn’t a leap into the unknown without thought or preparation. It’s an act of trust. Having remembered who we are, we move forward with greater freedom and confidence. Yerathel reminds us that we don’t need to have every answer before we begin. We simply need the courage to take the next faithful step.

The Message of Yerathel’s Tarot de Marseille Triad

Yerathel’s Tarot de Marseille triad reminds us that confidence isn’t the starting point. It is the fruit of walking in alignment with our Divine purpose. The more faithfully we answer that inner call, the more naturally courage and conviction begin to grow.

This beautifully ties in with the message of the Six of Wands. True victory isn’t about proving ourselves to other people. It’s about overcoming everything that has kept us from becoming the truest version of ourselves.

How to Work With Yerathel

Yerathel is a wonderful angel to call upon whenever you’ve lost confidence because you’ve lost your sense of direction. Before beginning, spend a few moments in silence and prayer. Be honest about what’s weighing on your heart and ask Yerathel to help you see where you’ve drifted away from your true purpose.

Reciting Psalm 140:1 is a beautiful way to begin:

“Deliver me, O Lord, from evildoers; preserve me from violent men.”

Pray the words slowly, allowing them to become your own. Invite Yerathel to protect you from anything—whether within yourself or in the outside world—that seeks to pull you away from your Highest Good.

As a Dominion of Chesed under the rulership of Archangel Zadkiel, Yerathel’s energy is expansive, hopeful and deeply restorative. You may like to light a pink or magenta candle during prayer or meditation. Keeping a piece of Smoky Quartz nearby can also help you stay grounded while releasing fear and self-doubt.

Yerathel’s mantra, Yoh-Reh-Tah, lends itself beautifully to meditation. Repeat it gently until your breathing slows and your mind begins to settle. Rather than striving for instant answers, simply remain open. Sometimes guidance arrives as a sudden insight. At other times, it unfolds quietly as one small step leads naturally to the next.
