Samael - Poison of God

The Poison of God Tarot Spread

Samael - Poison of God

Archangel Samael’s name means ‘Poison of God,’ ‘Venom of God’ or ‘Severity of God.’ In the past, I mistook this angel for Camael (aka Chamuel) whose name means ‘He who sees/seeks God.’ This is a common mistake as both angels are said to be the archangelic ruler of Tuesdays. However, I have have upon closer examination come to understand that Samael is the correct correspondence for Mars/Tuesdays.

Samael is also often confused/conflated with Lucifer. However, they are two separate beings.

In today’s post, we are getting to know the correspondences for this powerful angel. I also share a prayer and the Poison of God Tarot spread to help you connect with the strength and wisdom of Samael.
