This Taurus Full Moon Tarot spread invites us to reflect on what sustains us and how our faith takes shape in daily life. Drawing on the Hierophant’s Christian imagery, we consider the wisdom we receive, the habits we cultivate and the care we offer others.
The Full Moon provides a recurring pause to notice what has grown. What is bearing good fruit? Where have we become too attached? Which gifts are ready to be shared?
You can return to this practice each Taurus Full Moon, or whenever you need to reconnect with what matters.

Taurus and the Hierophant
In the Golden Dawn system of Tarot correspondences, Taurus is associated with V The Hierophant. This connection brings spiritual teaching, tradition and committed practice into our reflection on stability and values.
For this practice, I use the Moon’s rhythm as an occasion for prayerful attention. The focus is on recognising what supports a life rooted in truth and love.
In practice, earth symbolism invites us to consider how we put our beliefs into practice. Prayer has a place in the diary. Generosity makes a difference to how we use our resources. Love becomes visible through the things we do.
The Hierophant asks us to look at the relationship between what we profess and how we live.
Receiving Wisdom with Discernment
In Pamela Colman Smith’s Rider–Waite–Smith illustration, the Hierophant sits between two pillars. Two ministers kneel before him, with crossed keys at his feet. His raised hand makes a gesture of blessing.
In The Pictorial Key to the Tarot, A. E. Waite connects this figure with external religion and the transmission of grace through institutions. He also recognises the danger of a religious leader confusing his office with the greater reality it represents.
There is room here for both reverence and discernment.
What I see in the card is an invitation to receive wisdom with an open heart while remaining responsible for how I understand and practise it.
For example, a teacher, community or inherited prayer can give us roots. We can learn from those who came before us and still bring our questions honestly before God.
At the Taurus Full Moon, we might ask: which teachings are helping us become more patient, truthful and loving? Which habits have we kept simply because they are familiar?
What Truly Sustains Us?
Taurus symbolism brings our attention to the tangible foundations of life: food, shelter, the body, possessions and the resources we rely on.
These things deserve care. Gratitude can begin with a meal, a warm room or someone who remembers to ask how we are.
Yet attachment can quietly turn a source of comfort into something we feel unable to live without. We may cling to an object, a routine or another person’s approval because it seems to promise certainty.
In Matthew 6:19–21, Jesus connects our treasure with the direction of our hearts. His teaching invites us to examine what receives our deepest investment.
Where are our time, attention and resources going? Do those choices reflect what we say we value?
The question is worth bringing into prayer before we begin moving the furniture of our lives.
Receiving the Good
Taurus invites us to slow down enough to receive the goodness already within reach.
For example, we might notice the warmth of a cup between our hands. Or light falling across the kitchen table. Or music that helps us breathe a little more freely. In this way, ordinary pleasures can become occasions for gratitude.
As we pause, we can also bring our senses into prayer. What can we notice, appreciate and thank God for today?
For me, this also softens the Hierophant’s invitation to committed practice. After all, a spiritual life needs nourishment. Beauty, rest and companionship can therefore help sustain our capacity to love.
However, receiving can be surprisingly difficult. We may hurry past a kindness, dismiss a compliment or feel that rest must first be earned.
So, at the Taurus Full Moon, we can pause and ask: what goodness have I been overlooking? Where could I allow myself to receive with gratitude?
Taurus Full Moon Tarot Spread
Begin with a simple prayer like the one below, or use your own words:
God, help me recognise what sustains a life of truth and love. Guide me as I receive wisdom, loosen unhelpful attachments and share the gifts entrusted to me. Amen.
You may wish to place a Hierophant card from a separate deck beside your reading as a contemplation card. Shuffle your reading deck and draw six.

- The Roots: What is helping me live with greater steadiness and faith?
- The Teaching: What wisdom needs to become part of my daily practice?
- The Attachment: What am I holding too tightly?
- The Nourishment: What care or support do I need to receive?
- The Fruit: What good is growing that I can recognise with gratitude?
- The Offering: What practical act of love can I offer now?
Consider the images through prayer and discernment. Look for connections between the support you receive and the care you can give. Choose one small action to carry into the coming days.
