Honouring the Annunciation
Today, 25 of March (9 months before Christmas) is the Feast of the Annunciation in the Christian tradition. While this date may not represent the literal day of Yeshua’s conception, it remains a sacred moment to reflect on the mystery of giving birth to our own Christ nature. Mother Mary has shared a message for us relating to this, which I shared HERE earlier this morning. In today’s post on Angelorum, I offer you a Tarot spread inspired by the metaphysics of the Christian story and the rich symbolism of Medieval Annunciation art. This spread is designed to help you connect with Mother Mary and receive personal divine guidance.

Mother Mary and the Metaphysics of Christ Consciousness
Mother Mary represents more than a historical figure—she embodies the state of consciousness capable of receiving and nurturing the Christ within. According to Neville Goddard’s teachings, Mary symbolises the purified subconscious, ready to accept the seed of divine imagination and bring it to fruition. Each of us can cultivate this receptive state and allow our Higher Self to guide us.
Christ Consciousness is the awareness of our oneness with the divine. It is not distant or external but a reality waiting to awaken within. Mary’s pure heart represents the part of us free from fear and doubt, open to receiving divine inspiration. When we embrace this, we trust the inner authority of Spirit, guided not by outer rules but by the whisperings of our soul.
Annunciation Symbolism in Medieval Art
Medieval art depicting the Annunciation is full of sacred symbols that inspire deep reflection:
- The Lily: Symbolises purity and divine potential.
- The Open Window: Represents divine invitation and spiritual openness.
- The Book: Symbol of sacred wisdom and learning.
- The Dove: The presence of the Holy Spirit.
- Mary’s Hand on Her Heart: A reminder to listen to our inner guidance.
Drawing on these symbols, I’ve created a 7-card Tarot spread to help you connect with divine guidance and trust in your soul’s path.
The Annunciation Tarot Spread
From a metaphysical point of view, the Annunciation invites us to be open, receptive, and willing to birth Christ within, also known as the Angelic or Higher Self. As you lay out the cards, take a moment to sit in stillness and connect with Mother Mary’s loving presence. Trust that the Holy Spirit is guiding you as she gently holds you in her loving embrace.

Annunciation Sample Tarot Reading
1. The Open Window – 8 of Cups
Divine Invitation Entering Your Life:
You are being called to release emotional attachments that no longer serve your spiritual path. The 8 of Cups suggests a sacred departure from old wounds, limiting beliefs, and situations that drain your energy. This is an invitation to walk forward in faith, trusting that divine support is guiding you toward deeper fulfillment.
2. The Lily – Ace of Cups
What is Being Purified:
Your heart’s capacity to receive divine love is being cleansed and renewed. The Ace of Cups signifies a fresh emotional and spiritual beginning—Mother Mary is helping you release past hurts, guilt, or unworthiness so you may fully open to grace, compassion, and unconditional love.
3. The Book – The Empress (Mother Mary Synchronicity!)
Wisdom You Are Here to Embody:
The Empress as Mother Mary is a profound confirmation—this is a direct message from her. She calls you to embody divine feminine wisdom: nurturing creation (ideas, projects, spiritual gifts), trusting in abundance, and honoring the sacred cycles of life. Like Mary, you are being asked to say “yes” to divine conception. Focus on this new spiritual direction with gratitude and devotion.
4. The Dove – 2 of Wands
How the Holy Spirit is Inspiring You:
It is time to step into your spiritual authority. The 2 of Wands is a card of vision and bold choices. The Holy Spirit inspires you to claim your role as a co-creator with the Divine. This may involve planning and taking initiative in alignment with a higher blueprint for your life.
5. Mary’s Hand on Heart – Ace of Swords/Feathers
How to Deepen Trust in Inner Guidance:
The Ace of Swords is clarity from the Divine Mind. To deepen trust, practice discernment—cut through illusions, listen to the “still small voice,” and allow truth to pierce your heart like Mary’s fiat (“Let it be”). Journaling, prayer, or meditation on scripture/sacred texts will sharpen your receptivity.
6. The Ray of Light – The Chariot
Christ Consciousness Awakening Within You:
The Chariot signals victorious alignment of will and spirit. A spark of sacred determination is igniting—you are being prepared to carry divine light into the world with focus and courage. Surrender control, let divine energy move through you, and trust you are protected and guided.
7. The Path Forward – Queen of Cups/Chalices
Next Step in Birthing Your Potential:
The Queen of Cups is Mother Mary’s gentle directive: Lead with love, intuition, and emotional wisdom. Your next step is to nurture your spiritual gifts (especially channeling, healing, and creative expression) while staying compassionately grounded. Serve as a vessel of divine love—others will be healed through your openness.
Final Message from Mother Mary:
“Beloved child, you are being prepared as a sacred vessel. Release what weighs on your heart, for I am with you. Trust the clarity I place within you, and let love be your guide. As you surrender, my mantle covers you—fear not. The path ahead is lit by grace.”
