When Archangel Michael Appeared as Blue Light

Archangel Michael once showed himself to me.

I was attending a holistic fair many years ago and decided to treat myself to a healing session. I can’t remember the healer’s name now, only that she was a young woman in her mid-twenties.

As the session progressed and I relaxed more deeply, I became aware of a luminous being standing beside her. The figure appeared to be made entirely of blue light. There was nothing frightening about the experience. It felt reassuring and familiar.

At the end of the session, I asked the healer if she knew she had a blue angel guide working with her.

“Yes, of course,” she replied. “I always call on Archangel Michael before the start of a healing session.”

That encounter stayed with me because her response was so natural. Calling on Michael for protection was simply part of her spiritual practice.

Protection is often the first thing people associate with Archangel Michael. Over the years, however, I have come to appreciate how many different ways that protection can manifest.

Protection, courage, truth, healing, and guidance are all facets of the same solar current.

1. Present Situation — Queen of Wands

The heart of the matter is confidence, visibility, and leadership.

The Queen of Wands suggests you are entering a period where you can no longer remain hidden behind preparation, planning, or self-doubt. This card speaks of someone who has developed wisdom through experience and is now being called to embody it.

Michael often appears when courage is required, and the Queen of Wands reflects that theme perfectly. The challenge is not whether you have the ability. The challenge is whether you are willing to stand fully in your own light.

When progress feels slow, there is a temptation to abandon what is working or to assume that nothing is happening. Michael’s message here is that the harvest cannot be rushed.

Trust the process. Continue tending what matters. Not every form of protection arrives as a dramatic intervention. Sometimes protection means preserving what is already growing.

4. Sword of Truth — The Star

The truth that needs to be acknowledged is surprisingly simple:

Hope is justified.

The Star appears when it is time to reconnect with vision, faith, and inspiration after a difficult period. It asks you to believe in possibilities that may currently feel distant.

Michael’s sword cuts through fear, but it also cuts through cynicism.

Perhaps there is a part of you that has become cautious about expecting too much from life. The Star suggests that your future is not limited by past disappointments.

This card invites you to dream again and trust what your soul already knows.

5. Courageous Action — The Empress

The Empress advises you to cultivate favourable conditions for growth instead of attempting to control every outcome.

Michael’s courage is often associated with battle, but there is another form of courage represented here: the courage to receive.

Spend time creating, resting, learning, and nurturing what already shows promise. Invest energy in what is alive rather than fighting against what is not.

The Empress reminds us that abundance grows where attention is lovingly directed.

6. Divine Blessing — The Tower

The blessing may not arrive in the form you expect.

The Tower can appear frightening at first glance, yet in the position of Divine Blessing it becomes a force of liberation.
