The Full Moon in Scorpio on Saturday, 18 May (22:11 BST), is an opportunity for explosive transformation, opening up space for something completely new to be born in our lives. This lunation has a a Phoenix energy to it. If you have been holding onto old grief, regret or procrastination, consider this lunation your recycling station, where you can transform anything (yes, anything) that is holding you back into fuel for the journey ahead.
The crux is twofold. You have to be willing to shed the past, the way Snake sheds its skin, and you have to have the courage to face the resistance that will come at you from those who are not yet awakened to the need for change. They will want/expect you to remain the same. No matter what you tell them, they will not understand your reasoning for needing change, so remember the old saying about ‘Throwing pearls to swine’ when it comes to sharing your wisdom with those who would keep you stuck.
Those who have ears will hear and the rest simply are not your responsibility. In other words, do not resist those who resist your transformation. Keep moving forward, focused instead on what lies ahead for you and your life’s purpose.
The Empress (Venus) theme continues from the New Moon in Taurus message. The focus now shifts from self-acceptance and embracing who we are / what we truly value deep down with love and compassion for self, to accepting and embracing our mission in life – our role as a small part of a much bigger whole (The Star / Aquarius).
We are awake to our own power now, and much better aligned with our core values, so we can begin to move forward with optimism and hope in our hearts. This doesn’t mean it will be easy, the 5 of Wands testifies to the resistance mentioned above but our inner strength is building to to indomitable levels with the waxing of this Full Moon (Strength).
The 9 of Cups is the message from our unconscious mind about what truly matters when we are put through trials and tribulations because we finally choose to act on our inner guidance. If anything disturbs your peace and joy, simply lean away from the disturbance and back into that which brings you true joy and contentment, because you, my friend, are on a journey where happiness is not the destination, it is the journey itself.
Full Moon Question for Self-Reflection
What can you do to maintain a state of peace, harmony and contentment when the world around you seems to descend in chaos while you undergo massive transformation?
The Empress carries her own medicine, as do all the Tarot cards. She is here to remind us to spend lots of time in the arms of Mother Nature, and to keep grounding any volatile energy into the earth.
The more you use your creativity and act on creative impulses over the next couple of weeks, the better and more relaxed you will feel because you will see things starting to fall back into a harmonious pattern once more, almost just as soon as you pick up that pen or paint brush or dance shoe…
Sometimes the most courageous thing you can do, is to just allow yourself to be wildly creative for no other reason than the impulse to create!
And so it is.
