Making the Connection

Last week, I met up with the pastors of the nearest Vineyard Church to where I live. It was wonderful to finally connect with other believers in real life. Together, we are planning on moving forward with my baptism. Baptism is the next natural step after surrendering to the Lord in April.

In the meantime, I was given some great reading materials. I’m so very grateful for the kindness and generosity of the Darlington Vineyard Church. (Just to clarify–the views in this post are my own and do not reflect Vineyard Church policy or teachings other than where explicitly expressed).

I’m currently on reading ‘Live Like Jesus‘ which is wonderful for understanding our new identity in Christ, i.e. not a poor sinner under grace but someone DEAD to sin. There is a rather hilarious reference to being ‘mostly dead’ from Princess Bride (my favourite film!) in this book which really nailed it for me.

Pastor Phil said something that really stuck with me after I shared about my past as a witch and how I believe that I went down that path because it gave me a sense of power and control. He said, ‘Yes, power. But there is power and there is authority.’ My spirit has been working overtime on understanding the operational function of both in light of my past and present experiences. I woke up Spirit-filled and ready to blog about it.

Authority and Abuse

For someone like me, who was raised completely disempowered due to an abusive home environment, power and control became really important. So does authority but for all the wrong reasons. Authority is feared and hated due to the lack of trust.

The ones in authority over you, the ones you were meant to trust, abused, and abandoned you. This likely means that for the rest of your life, you’re bound to have authority issues to a lesser or greater degree. Or, I should say, until you surrender those issues to the Lord.

I’m now seeing clearly, to what degree this affected me and my choices. It’s also evident that it was this hatred of authority, combined with a longing to feel in control, that so easily attracted the Jezebel spirit into my life.

The Power of Witchcraft

Having now learned about Jezebel in the Old Testament, as well as listened to some teachings by contemporary Christians who understand how this spirit operates in the world right now, I can see why I was under the domain of Jezebel for such a long time.

This spirit promised me everything I wanted (New Age sells for a REASON), without having to be under anybody’s authority but my own. Needless to say, this puts us directly under the influence of the enemy but without the Holy Spirit, you are blind to that fact.

Because, let’s not kid ourselves, there is power in witchcraft. This power is well documented, not only in the Bible, but in many ancient texts dating back thousands of years, as well as in modern literature.

If there were no supernatural powers to be harvested, do you really think the FBI and the CIA would spend so much time and money on researching them? Do you really think the Elite would be abusing and sacrificing babies to Moloch unless they had something to gain in terms of power?

In the Image of God

You and I were created in the image of God. Even in our fallen state, some of these power are operational. They are not fully operational but they still work well enough for some people to be able to cultivate them and to become proficient in things like telepathy and seership.

The problem is that in our fallen state, our natural tendency is to want to use these gifts for personal gain rather than for the glory of God, as is the case of Balaam in the Old Testament. He is temporarily used by God for a certain purpose because of his gift as a Seer. After that, Balaam seemingly soon falls back in his old ways as a sorcerer. Not long after that, he is killed by the Israelites when they invade the promised land.

The Spirit of Jezebel

Anybody with a prophetic gifting is likely to encounter the spirit of Jezebel along the way. One of her main functions in the army of the enemy, is to capture prophets and keep them isolated. In the book of 1 Kings, chapter 18, we learn that Obidah had to rescue hundres of prophets from being slaughtered by Jezebel and the only way he could do so was to place the in caves ‘for their own safety.’ Does this remind you of what is happening right now?

We find ourselves in a time when the prophetic gifting is more important than ever due to the worldly powers that be seeking to divide, steal, kill and conquer on a global and unprecedented scale, all under the guise of a fake pandemic. Like all of God’s gifts, prophecy is meant to function in unity with all other gifts, in unity and for the edification of the whole body of Christ. The enemy has ensured that this is not possible at this time.

So what’s the workaround? Well… This. Sharing the truth about what is happening and getting people to unite in prayer. We pray for a breakthrough so that the body of Christ, His ecclesia (Gr. for church) can begin to gather again. Not online but face to face.

And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.

Hebrews 10:25

The alternative is to allow ourselves to be ruled by the same spirit of fear that is ruling the rest of the world. But that is not how we are supposed to lead our lives as Christians. We have the authority and rulership of God, which is above that of the globalist governments, controlled by the Cabal. Those governments have now removed themselves from the contract of democracy they were under with their people. They serve the Elite, not the people.

A Spirit of Fear

For this reason, I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands (touch is IMPORTANT)**, for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.

2 Timothy 1:6-7

How is what is happening now affecting God’s ecclesia? Not only is it weakening the body and its individual members; people around us, non-believers, are not able to see or taste the power of the gospel and Kingdom life. They look at us and they see that we are just as weak and frightened as they are. This can’t be right, sisters and brothers.

If we truly believe in the authority of the Lord and in His Word, we should not forsake meeting up. Is He not the Lord of All? Does He not grant us healing when we seek it? Does He not keep us safe? Are we to live in fear indefinitely, cowering in our homes like those prophets that Obadiah hid cowered in fear of Jezebel?

Pushing Back Like Jesus

This is not the Lord I know and serve. And it seems I’m not alone in feeling this way. Plenty of Christians are speaking out and encouraging civil disobedience on this and other agendas pushed on us by governments and MSM. Bevelyn Beatty (what a brave lady!), for instance, isn’t buying the lie that Soros-sponsored BLM is in any way FOR actual black lives. She uses her voice to expose the lie and to testify to the power and authority of Jesus to save all lives.

True Authority vs the Power of the Witch

Think! The Lord gave us authority to RAISE THE DEAD. I’m going to say that again: The LORD gave us the authority to raise the dead. Where is our faith during this global lockdown?! We are the ones who unbelievers who are living in fear should be turning to now for hope and courage. Instead, we are hiding away and covering ourselves with muzzles like everyone else. NO. Just STOP and remember who you ARE!

The authority of Jesus Christ will show down the power of Jezebel every single time. I have experienced this over and over again, even in a state of apostasy. Even when I was a practising witch, I knew that only Jesus Christ had the authority to drive away demons. I now submit fully to the authority of the Lord. Under His authority, I’m co-heir of that same authority, as a child of God.

There is no denying that Jezebel had lots of power back in her day as Queen of Israel. However, the prophet Elijah rose up and challenged that power in an EPIC show-down on Mount Carmel. This is a truly amazing historical account. Please read it. And for those of you who have (the wrong) idea of what it means to be a follower of the Way and to speak with authority, I leave you with the following statement by Elijah:

And at noon Elijah mocked them (the false prophets of Baal)**, saying, “Cry aloud, for he is a god. Either he is musing, or he is relieving himself (lol)**, or he is on a journey, or perhaps he is asleep and must be awakened.”
