We are the witches, healers, and priestesses the dragons dreamed into being — and the hour of remembrance is now.

There’s a collective spell stirring, burning with a single, insistent desire: to reconnect with the dragons. This post is both a call and a guide — a manifesto for dragon witches ready to reconnect with the dragon realm, and a practical 3-step path any aspiring dragon witch can follow in this lifetime.

I began this work years ago, back in 2017, when my main dragon guide first appeared. It was wild, exhilarating, and deeply familiar — like an old part of me had finally spoken up. And then, as often happens to “sensible adults,” my mind got in the way. Doubt crept in. Logic tried to explain it away. Angels are controversial enough — mention dragons, and most people are ready to sign the sectioning papers.
But I no longer care. I know dragons are one of the reasons I came back to Midgard in this lifetime. I know I’ve walked this realm before as a shapeshifting dragon-elf in pre-Atlantean times. And I know that part of my work now is to help others remember, too.
The Dragons Dreamed Us into Being
In meditation, the dragons shared something that felt like a forgotten myth: humans are the beings dragons dreamed into being so their vast intelligence could have more agency in the realm of matter.
It’s ironic, then, that it is precisely this intellect — the gift they seeded into us — that so often cuts us off from them. We think, therefore we doubt. And in doubting, we close the door.
That irony runs deeper still. Our culture is being flooded with AI-generated videos about dragons, Tiamat, and the “return of the dragon priestesses.” These videos magnetise those who feel the call, but they’re often weightless — disembodied stories with no grounding in lived reality. It’s as if the dragons are trying to reach us through the machine, but humans haven’t yet had the courage to step forward and put a face, a voice, a pair of shaking-but-determined hands to the work.
That’s why I’m writing this. It’s time to remember who we are. It’s time to bring the dragon current back into our embodied, human lives.
Remembering the Dragon Witch Within
For many dragon witches, the dragon current begins as a pull — a subtle hum beneath the skin, an ache in the bones, an unshakable fascination with dragons that refuses to be “just a phase.” Others glimpse flashes of memory: wings, scales, shapeshifting forms, ancient lives where dragon and human were not separate but one.
This isn’t fantasy. It’s soul memory.
Working with dragons is not about escaping this world; it’s about reclaiming a dimension of our own being that’s been exiled by centuries of over-rational, left-brain dominance. That dominance built the modern world, but it also silenced our deep imagination — the part of us that knows how to listen, dream, shape, and co-create.
When we remember the dragon within, we remember that we are not small, powerless creatures bound by gravity and time. We are the bridge between fire and flesh, dream and deed. And that bridge is precisely what the dragons intended.
A 3-Step Guide to Reconnect with the Dragon Realm
Here’s how dragon witches can begin reclaiming their dragon selves — gently, practically, and in service to the greater wyrd.
1. Rekindle the Flame – Remembering
Carve out time for daily stillness. Sit or lie down and focus on your breath, imagining it as dragonfire rising and falling within you. Visualise a coiled serpent of light sleeping at the base of your spine. With every breath, it stirs.
Whisper inwardly: “I remember.”
Then listen. Images, words, sensations, or memories may arise — or simply a feeling of presence. All of it is part of the remembering. Journal what surfaces with the question:
“If the dragon within me could speak, what would it say?”
2. Build the Bridge – Relationship
Dragons are not archetypes to be studied from afar; they are living intelligences that respond to relationship. Create a simple dragon altar — a candle, a crystal, a wand, a sigil. Light the candle and speak aloud:
“Ancient ones of flame and stone, of wind and deep water, I seek to remember. Teach me how to serve the wyrd in harmony with your wisdom.”
Then pay attention. Dragons are subtle but insistent. Their presence may ripple through dreams, weather, synchronicities, or the sudden urge to act boldly and creatively.
3. Walk as Flame – Embodiment
Dragon magic begins in the subtle, but it must be grounded through action. Let their current infuse your daily choices. Create, heal, teach, protect, build — not from ego, but from that fiery wisdom rising inside you.
At the altar of dragonfire, dragon witches become the vessel of the One Breath of Creation, answering it by the name their soul whispers, and letting it move through them in love and power.
The Truth About Dragons and the Myth of Hoarding
One of the most enduring myths dragon witches encounter is that dragons are greedy hoarders, sleeping on piles of treasure. But this story is a distortion — a projection born from what happens when the human intellect, cut off from its source, becomes self-centred and fearful.
Dragons do not hoard for greed. They guard. The treasure they protect is not gold but living potential — megin itself, the sacred creative force. They hold it in trust until a being is ready to wield it wisely.
When we lost touch with the dragon realm, our intellect — now running unchecked — mimicked the surface image without the deeper wisdom. We began to hoard knowledge, wealth, power, and magic for ourselves, mistaking possession for mastery.
Reconnecting with dragons means remembering the deeper truth: power is meant to circulate. Dragonfire must move, transform, and flow. Magic shared multiplies. Magic hoarded decays.
This is why dragon witches are called not just to awaken their fire, but to offer it — for healing, for creation, for the evolution of the collective. We are not keepers of dusty treasure. We are conduits of living flame.
Gatekeepers, Trademarks, and the Dragons’ Disapproval
As the dragon current stirs again in the collective field, we’re seeing more people stepping forward to speak of dragon magic — and that’s a beautiful thing. But not all of what’s emerging is aligned with the dragons’ will. One of the clearest messages I’ve ever received from them is this: dragonfire is not a commodity.
This current is ancient, vast, and sovereign. It does not belong to any one person, tradition, or trademark. Attempts to fence it off, monetise access, or suggest that only initiates of a particular lineage can wield it are profoundly out of alignment with its nature. The dragons did not dream humanity into being so we could build new cages.
Dragons™
Some teachers now attempt to brand or trademark “dragon magic” paths as if they were intellectual property — placing the fire behind paywalls, hiding practices behind oaths of exclusivity, or implying that others’ experiences are invalid unless they are “certified.” This is not how dragons work. They are not interested in gatekeepers. The resistance we face in the rational, 3D world is heavy enough — we don’t need more doors slammed shut by those who claim to speak for them.
I share this because I, too, walk a named path. The current I serve has revealed itself to me as Drakruna — a name I use to describe and honour the specific weave of dragonfire, wyrd, and living light that flows through my work. But this name is not a trademark. It’s not a brand to keep others out. It’s a lantern: a way to give language to something vast, and to help those who resonate with this current recognise it.
Drakruna is not mine. It belongs to the dragons — and they belong to no one.
If the dragons are calling you, know this: you do not need permission. You do not need certification. You do not need anyone to initiate you but Life itself. The work is already within you. Your dragon self has never left.
A Spell to Rekindle the Dragon Bond
Here’s a simple spell you can perform with a wand — or simply your breath and intention — to reopen the channel between human and dragon, intellect and flame.
You will need:
- A candle
- A wand (or your hand if you don’t have one)
Rite:
Light the candle. Take three slow breaths, each one deeper and more intentional than the last. With each inhalation, feel the dragon stirring in your belly. When you exhale, breathe dragonfire into the space around you — your breath is the offering.
With the wand (or your hand), trace a slow spiral in the air, starting at your heart and expanding outward. As you trace, speak:
“By flame and breath, by blood and bone,
I call the dragon’s fire home.
Intellect and flame as one shall be,
In service to Life and the great wyrd’s weave.”
Sit in silence for a few minutes, breathing gently. Feel the warmth and presence within you and around you. This is the breath of dragons — and it is your own.
Tarot Spread & Rune Pull for Dragon Witches
When you feel ready to deepen this connection, you can use the cards and runes as tools for dialogue with the dragon realm.

Dragonfire Spread – Awaken the Flame Within
- What Sleeps Within – The dragon gift or wisdom that lies dormant in me now.
- What Awakens Me – What will help me remember and reclaim this part of myself?
- How to Serve the Flame – The most aligned way to express dragon magic for the collective good.
After laying the cards, pull one rune and place it above the spread. This rune represents the dragon current moving through you at this time — the energy that seeks expression in your life. Reflect on how its megin (magical power) wants to flow and how you might work with it in the days ahead.
Dragonfire Sample Tarot and Rune Reading

What Sleeps Within – Page of Wands
A spark of wild, youthful dragonfire lies dormant within you — a gift of curiosity, courage, and creative potential that is ready to grow. The Page of Wands reminds you that this is not about mastering vast power all at once, but about daring to play with the flame again. It’s the willingness to take that first bold step that wakes the sleeping dragon.
What Awakens Me – 5 of Cups
Grief, regret, and the ghosts of what’s been lost can become gateways rather than prisons. The 5 of Cups shows that remembrance is not only about joy — it’s also about honouring what’s been left behind. The dragons teach us to transform sorrow into strength, and to use the heartache of disconnection as the very fuel that powers our return.
How to Serve the Flame – Page of Cups
From that alchemy of fire and feeling, a new offering is born. The Page of Cups speaks of creative service, intuition, and acts of beauty that ripple outward. This is dragon magic expressed through tenderness and imagination — small gestures that carry big medicine. When you let the heart guide the hand, the dragonfire moves through you effortlessly.
Rune – Gebo (ᚷ)
And what rune could be more perfect? Gebo, the rune of sacred exchange, seals the reading with the reminder that dragon magic is a partnership — a gift given and received. The dragons do not seek worship; they seek collaboration. Your gifts are not yours to hoard but to offer back into the great web of wyrd.
Rise, Dragon Witch
If you’ve felt the pull of dragonfire in your bones, you are not alone. The dragons are not myth or metaphor. They are living intelligences that dreamed us into being, and they are calling us to remember.
This is the work of the dragon witches: to remember who we are, to reconnect with the dragon realm, and to let dragonfire flow through us in service to the greater wyrd.
This is the hour to pick up your wand, breathe fire into your words, and walk the path of living flame once more — not as hoarders of magic but as its stewards and co-creators. The dragons are not returning to us. They are awakening through us.
It’s time.
