Leuviah, also known as Lauviah and Lovel, is the 19th Shem HaMephorash angel and the Angel of Memory. His name means “The Swiftly Listening God,” a title that points to both divine attentiveness and the power of inner listening.

As guardian of the first five days of Cancer, Leuviah teaches that memory is far more than the ability to recall facts and events. Memory is the thread connecting us to our experiences, our purpose, and our relationship with the Divine. Through his influence, old wounds can become wisdom, forgotten talents can resurface, and the deeper meaning behind life’s experiences can reveal itself.
Those born under his guardianship are often gifted with strong intuition, emotional depth, and an unusual ability to learn through reflection. Even for those outside his dates, Leuviah offers guidance whenever we seek deeper understanding.

The Intelligence of Leuviah
Leuviah governs the faculty of memory. While this can manifest as strong recall and intellectual ability, his spiritual gift is deep memory and past-life recall.
Leuviah’s guidance comes through in dreams, intuition, creative inspiration, and moments of sudden recognition. A forgotten memory may surface at precisely the right time, or a recurring pattern may finally reveal its purpose.
Leuviah can also connect us with people from our soul family (aka soul mates) and trigger past-life memories. Some practitioners call on him when exploring ancestral memory, past-life experiences, or the Akashic Records.
Healing Through Remembrance
Not every memory is easy to revisit.
Grief, disappointment, resentment, and regret can become burdens when carried without understanding. Old emotional wounds may continue influencing present choices long after the original circumstances have passed.
Leuviah’s approach is neither suppression nor avoidance. Instead, he helps us view the past from a broader perspective. A setback may reveal itself as preparation. A closed door may prove to have been guidance in disguise. Through this process, memory becomes an instrument of healing.
Leuviah can assist with:
- Memory and learning
- Dream interpretation
- Past-life recollection
- Accessing the Akashic Records
- Creative inspiration
- Emotional mastery
- Healing grief and sadness
- Reconciliation and peace-making
- Communication and self-expression
- Recovery from illness
- Patience during adversity
- Understanding Cosmic Law
Working with Leuviah
Stillness is one of the simplest gateways for connecting with Leuviah.
Find a quiet place where you can sit without interruption. Spend a few moments allowing the mind to settle before chanting his mantra:
Lah-Vah-Vah
There is no need to force an experience. Answers often arrive later through dreams, intuitive impressions, meaningful coincidences, or insights that emerge naturally over time.
Meditating on his corresponding Psalm can strengthen the connection:
“I waited patiently for the Lord; he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.”
Patience is central to Leuviah’s teaching. Understanding often unfolds gradually as awareness deepens.
You may wish to call on Leuviah before:
- Meditation
- Dream work
- Journaling
- Creative projects
- Spiritual study
- Relationship healing
- Akashic Record exploration

Leuviah and the 2 of Cups
The Tarot correspondence for Leuviah is the 2 of Cups, associated with Venus in Cancer.
This card represents connection, mutual understanding, reconciliation, and emotional exchange. Two figures meet as equals, each willing to share what they carry within. Trust begins to grow because both are willing to be seen.
That image mirrors Leuviah’s work beautifully.
Many of the barriers that prevent intimacy are rooted in old memories. Past disappointments can create fear of vulnerability. Earlier betrayals may encourage us to remain guarded long after the danger has passed. Leuviah helps bring these patterns into awareness so that genuine connection becomes possible again.
The 2 of Cups highlights:
- Emotional honesty
- Mutual respect
- Forgiveness
- Reconciliation
- Healthy vulnerability
- Loving communication
At its highest expression, this card reminds us that meaningful relationships are built through openness, trust, and a willingness to meet one another heart to heart.

The Message of the Tarot de Marseille
Leuviah’s Hebrew letters correspond to the sequence:
XII The Hanged Man → VI The Lover → VI The Lover
The journey begins with The Hanged Man, a card of suspension, surrender, and altered perspective. Before wisdom can emerge, something must be viewed differently. A familiar story loses its certainty, creating space for a new understanding to develop.
From that shift in perception emerges The Lover.
In the Tarot de Marseille, The Lover often points toward alignment between values, choices, and the heart’s deeper truth. Here, the card suggests remembering what truly matters after a period of confusion or uncertainty.
Its repetition strengthens the message.
Insight alone changes very little. Transformation occurs when understanding becomes action and values become lived experience. The second Lover indicates commitment to what has been recognised.
Together with the 2 of Cups, this triad suggests that healing begins when we release outdated perceptions, reconnect with the heart, and choose relationships that reflect our deepest values.
Angel of Memory Tarot Spread
Before laying out the cards, chant the mantra Lah-Vah-Vah or meditate briefly on Psalm 40:1. Ask Leuviah to illuminate whatever memory, lesson, or pattern is ready to come into awareness.

- What memory from my soul wishes to surface now?
- What lesson does this memory contain?
- What needs to be released for healing to occur?
- What gift am I being called to express?
- Leuviah’s message of love for me at this time.
This Tarot spread is particularly useful for dream work, recurring relationship patterns, emotional healing, creative development, and periods of deep self-reflection. Pay attention if The Moon, The Popess/High Priestess, The Wheel or The World appear in positions 1 or 2, since these cards are karmic and can indicate a past-life theme or lesson.
Closing Reflection
We spend much of our lives searching for answers somewhere outside ourselves.
Leuviah suggests that some of the answers are already here, waiting quietly in memory, dreams, intuition, and the patterns that repeat throughout our lives.
Sometimes the next step forward begins with remembering something we thought we had forgotten.
