Logion 24 and the Ace of Disks – The Gospel of Thomas and Tarot

Logion 24 and the Ace of Disks - Thomas and Tarot

His disciples said, “Show us the place where you are, because we need to look for it.”
He said to them, “Anyone who has ears to hear should hear! Light exists within a person of light, and they light up the whole world. If they don’t shine, there’s darkness.”

Logion 24, Gospel of Thomas

The Person of Light in the Gospel of Thomas

When the disciples ask Yeshua to show them where he is, he answers with what he/the person of light does. Why? It’s because there is union (yoga) between where the person of light is (on the inner planes) and what he does. The person of light testifies to the light within with his or her actions and most notably through his eyes. It has been said many times that the eyes are the mirror of the soul.

Compare Logion 24 in the Gospel of Thomas to this passage from the Gospel of Luke:

The light of the body is the eye: therefore when thine eye is single, thy whole body also is full of light; but when thine eye is evil, thy body also is full of darkness.

Luke 11:34, KJV

The eyes that reflect the single purpose of being in service to the Light will be one with that Light. This is how the ‘person of light’ holds everything it beholds in equal regard. The person of light loves everyone like the sun radiates its light equally over all of creation. The person of light is in complete union with the light and love of creation.

The Ace of Pentacles

The Ace of Disks/Pentacles from the Tarot of the Holy Light just happens to be illustrated with an eye inside a solar disk. I’m never disappointed when I pair a logion from the Gospel of Thomas with the Tarot card of the day.

Aces are seeds and the Ace of Pentacles is a seed with potential for physical manifestation. To the ‘person of light,’ life on Earth is all about planting the seeds of faith so that the Kingdom of Heaven (the Kingdom of Light and Love) can be made manifest:

He put before them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed that a man planted in his field. Although it is the smallest of all seeds, yet it grows into the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and nest in its branches.”

Matthew 13:31-32

In the Tarot of the Holy Light app, the text for the Ace of Disks contains the following very apt statement:

Focused meditation in the inner light structures one’s personality upon a vision of matter awakened to its original, paradisal state. By practicing this meditation, one eventually could gain enough control of the celestial radiance to heal the body, untangle the emotions, and complete the growth of the soul.

How perfect is that?
