2023 Review, Highlights and Journalling Prompts

2023 review

It’s time for a 2023 Review and I want to begin by saying a massive ‘Thank you!’ to any readers who were with me before 2023 hit and who are still with me. You are the diehards for sure and I love every single one of you. Also, a huge thanks to all my returning clients. Without you, I wouldn’t still be here.

2023 has been one of my weirdest years to date. And that’s saying a lot. I won’t go over all of it again in today’s post. You know if you were there. Let’s focus on the positives.

Here are some of the 2023 highlights for me:

  • I recovered from Religious Trauma Syndrom (yes, completely) after my second mental health break since the 2020 WEF-orchestrated, trauma-triggering sh*t show began. Congratulations if you are still here and smiling, my friend–You are stronger than you thought you were!!
  • I found a way of integrating my love for all things witchy with my love for Scripture in the form of Psalm Magic (a massive thanks to the excellent Ariel Gatoga)
  • My name had to reflect the transformation I underwent this year. I was ready to choose a magickal name for myself. You can read about it in THIS POST which also guides you through the process of choosing a magic(k)al/witch’s name for yourself

2020-2024 Oh my!

I recently summarised how I feel about the past nearly four years in an Insta post:

Below you will find some Tarot journalling prompts to help you review your 2023. Feel free to pull as many cards as you feel guided to for each prompt. CLICK HERE for a simple year review + year ahead Tarot spread. Alternatively, check out the Year Card Review Tarot Spread.

2023 Review of Best-Selling Tarot Books (Amazon UK)

  1. The Ultimate Guide to Tarot by Liz Dean
  2. The Knight-Waite Tarot Guidebook by Michele Knight-Waite
  3. Seventy-Eight Degrees of Wisdom by Rachel Pollack
  4. The Original Rider Waite Key to the Tarot by A.E. Waite
  5. The Little Book of Tarot: An Introduction to Fortune-Telling and Divination by Xanna Eve Chown
  6. Guided Tarot by Stefanie Caponi
  7. Reading the Tarot by Shawna Blood
  8. The Complete Beginners Guide to Tarot by Misty J Kinsman
  9. Tarot for Beginners: A Step-by-Step Guide by Vivienne Grant
  10. The Tales Behind Tarot by Alison Davies

The only three books that I have owned in the past and can recommend are The Ultimate Guide to Tarot, Seventy-Eight Degrees of Wisdom and the Original Rider Waite Key to the Tarot. That’s not to say the other books aren’t any good but I don’t know any of them. I was just curious what was selling so this is my attempt to collate the data, which isn’t easy because of how poorly categorised Tarot items are on Amazon. Hence I make no claims about the accuracy of the list above or the one below.

As you can see almost all of the books above are for beginners. That is to be expected since few venture past learning the basics. If you could wish for an intermediate or advanced Tarot book, what would you like for it to cover?

2023 Review of Best-Selling Tarot Decks (Amazon UK)

  1. The Original Rider Waite Tarot by A.E. Waite and Pamela Colman Smith (Yay!! Sooo iconic!)
  2. Tattoo Tarot: Ink & Intuition Game by Diana McMahon-Collis and MEGAMUNDEN
  3. The Knight-Waite Tarot Deck by Michele Knight-Waite
  4. The Good Tarot by Colette Baron-Reid and Jena DellaGrottaglia (I reviewed it HERE and though I wasn’t very kind in my review I’m not surprised it’s still a best-seller. The artwork is very yummy.)
  5. Buffy the Vampire Slayer Tarot Deck and Guidebook by Casey Gilly and Karl James Mountford
  6. The Dungeons and Dragons Tarot Deck
  7. The Cat Tarot by Megan Lynn Kott
  8. The Light Seer’s Tarot by Chris-Anne (I used to own and love this deck before it made it to the skip with about 300 decks during my mental health break in 2020.)
  9. Good Omens Tarot by Minerva Siegel (Might have to check this one out since I loved the series!)
  10. The Crystal Magic Tarot by Kerry Ward

What’s On Wish Your Tarot Christmas Wish List?

I would love to know which of the decks and books above that you own and recommend. But I’m even more curious about what’s on your Tarot Christmas wish list right now. Let me know in the comments! I would also love to know what new releases you are looking forward to in the New Year.

I’m so far behind on new releases. The only one I know I will get in 2024 is the English-language release of the Swedish Witch Tarot. In a way, this is a good thing. It seems Tarot FOMO has loosened its grip on me. But go on… Tempt me!

In 2024 I hope to continue walking the Middle Path between Higher Will and personal will, light and dark, genius and madness. I welcome you to follow along so that we can continue to learn and grow together!
