fehu holy runes

Fehu

Sounds and symbols came before letters, language and organised religion. In caves, we find many cave paintings of cattle, which is the meaning of the Fehu rune.

The Elder Futhark rune Fehu is a rune of abundance, good fortune, ‘luck,’ new beginnings, vitality and reputation.

In Norse mythology, this rune is associated with Frey and Freya, the bright solar twins of fertility and the harvest.

Fehu Rune Stance for Receiving

If you try taking a stance to form the shape of this rune, with your palms facing up, it’s as if you are placing yourself in a position to receive blessings from on High.

Pause here for a moment.

Notice how this feels. Do you have a personal connection with the Source of all abundance? Do you have a sense of entitlement or are you grateful?

How you feel is a good indicator of how well the abundance is flowing in your life. If you do not have a genuine sense of gratitude for what God has provided for us all, you can say all the affirmations you like or cast all the spells you want. It won’t make any difference.

Working with Fehu Energy

Thus, generating more of the good Fehu energy in your life is very much about gratitude and generosity. These qualities will also help you build a solid reputation.

In the book of Proverbs, this is a wellknown fact.

One person gives freely, yet gains even more;
another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty.
A generous person will prosper;
whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.

—Proverbs 11:24–25

Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord
and he will reward them for what they have done.

—Proverbs 19:17

So in Proverbs 19:17, we see that giving to another person = giving to God and this gives another layer of meaning to the upturned palms in the Fehu rune stance.

Fehu Rune Stance for Giving

Before taking this stance again, think of someone in need. It doesn’t have to be someone you know personally (we’re all connected) and imagine yourself offering them what they need as unto to the Lord.

Pause here for a moment. Really try to visualise helping someone in need and God receiving your good deed as a sweet love offering. If it helps, you can first face your palms up to receive from God (everything we have comes from God), then face them down to pass this on to a person in need. Finally, face your palms back up to show that you’re offering the passing on of this gift to God.

How does this make you feel? Do you have a different perspective on abundance after trying this little exercise?

Simple Reminders

Draw the Fehu rune on your palms to remind yourself that every act of generosity is giving to God from whom all abundance flows.

You can also chant the Fehu rune prayerfully to yourself when you wish to increase your vitality levels or you need to start over/give yourself a new beginning.

Drawing the Fehu rune in the air over your work area can help bring in more creativity which is another form of abundance.
