For today’s misfit message I’m working with one of those decks I had an instant heart connection with, the Heart of the Faerie Oracle (Amazon UK link) by Brian and Wendy Froud. I haven’t handled it for a while but getting these cards out was very much like reconnecting with a best friend – It was as if no time at all had past and the perfect message for today showed up straight away.
There is strong synchronicity at play here as well and I would expect no less where the Fae are involved. My message for the New Moon (valid for the two weeks leading up to the Full Moon in Capricorn) from the Sacred Rebels Oracle was ‘Trust Yourself.’
The message of this beautiful Lady is to stand up for what we know is right but to keep our heart open at the same time. We can call on the Lady of Faith any time we struggle with keeping our boundaries strong or articulating what we believe in the face of opposition.
She will remind us that being kind is more important than being right but also that this doesn’t mean allowing others to walk over us. She is wearing armour over her head and shoulders but not over her heart.
To me, she looks very Garbo-esque. Great Garbo was known as the ‘Swedish Sphinx’ and, as another funny little synchronicity, I added a picture of Greta Garbo in Mata Hari as my Facebook profile cover last night. I want to be able to keep my cool no matter what opinions are flying around me… Especially considering the political climate here in the UK at the moment.
Incidentally, you may have heard Garbo quoted as having said ‘I want to be alone’ or I vant to be aloooone (with a Swedish accent). However, she wants us to know that…
I never said, “I want to be alone.” I only said, “I want to be left alone”.
There is a world of difference. We have a right to ask people who bother us to leave us alone and that doesn’t have to mean that we shut our hearts down to those around us who need our loving care and attention.
So let us ask the Lady of Faith to help us all to keep all the positive traits of our sensitive misfit nature but to balance those with cool, calm discernment so that the opinions and emotions of others don’t get to us.
I pray you will have supreme faith in yourself today.
Here are some of my favourite quotes to inspire self-belief:
“Always be yourself and have faith in yourself. Do not go out and look for a successful personality and try to duplicate it.”
~ Bruce Lee
“Low self-confidence isn’t a life sentence. Self-confidence can be learned, practiced, and mastered–just like any other skill. Once you master it, everything in your life will change for the better.”
~ Barrie Davenport
“It is confidence in our bodies, minds, and spirits that allows us to keep looking for new adventures.”
~ Oprah Winfrey
“Shyness has a strange element of narcissism, a belief that how we look, how we perform, is truly important to other people.”
~ Andre Dubus
“You yourself, as much as anyone in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection.”
So much love!
