The Changing Landscape of Tarot Blogging in the Age of AI

raven liora tarot blogger

In today’s blog post, I want to talk about how things have changed since I first started blogging about the Tarot back in December 2006. What does it take to be successful when it comes to Tarot blogging in the Age of AI? The Tarot remains the same but how to get the message out there has changed.

This post will help you get a good understanding of what you need to succeed as a Tarot blogger whether you are just starting on your Tarot blogging journey or you’re an old-time blogger trying to get up to speed with the latest developments. The article also provides helpful insights for any spiritual or metaphysical business content creators who are curious about using AI.

Topics Covered

While the Tarot remains archetypally the same it has actually become a lot more popular since I first started blogging. I’d like to think that I have something to do with that (haha) but it’s probably more down to the visual appeal of the Tarot symbols and archetypes. As it became easier to distribute images on social media platforms and as these platforms have grown, so has the awareness (and pulling power) of the Tarot.

When I first learned of AI, I categorically decided that I would never use it on the Angelorum blog. I never have any problems coming up with topics to blog about so I didn’t feel I needed it. I was also afraid of losing my voice.

What I didn’t realise was that the forte of AI, i.e. finding relevant information, could be combined with my desire to explore a plethora of metaphysical topics in writing. I also quickly learned that I could extract relevant and verified (!) information without losing my voice.

So can AI help you stand out in the evermore competitive Tarot blogging landscape or is AI likely to make you disappear in a sea of bland AI-generated Tarot content? The answer: It’s up to you! In today’s article, I will show you how to leverage the power of AI to stand out.

1. Master Your Tarot Skills

The first step in becoming a successful Tarot blogger is obviously to learn the Tarot. Thankfully, most of the tools and lessons to do this can now be found online, completely free of charge. Sites like Angelorum have tons of FREE Tarot resources for every level learner. Use your discernment and don’t be afraid to ask advanced Tarot readers for recommendations. Not every free resource is a high-quality resource.

The second step is to find your niche and area of specialisation as a Tarot reader and blogger. This is also how you find your voice as a writer. Once you know your strengths as a Tarot expert, you know how to stand out. As always when it comes to metaphysical learning it boils down to ‘Know thyself.’

When I first started working up the courage to go pro with my Tarot readings, joining TABI was an important milestone. I went through their endorsement process in 2007 and received invaluable feedback on 25 email readings.

The good news is that you don’t have to be a Tarot Master to start blogging. You can start a long time before you go pro and take your readers with you on your Fool’s Journey with the Tarot. Remember, you are embarking on an ever-evolving path of learning and transformation. The most important thing to remember is to be authentic. Because authenticity is what people are searching for more and more as AI models take over in the teaching arena.

Wherever you are on your journey, it will appeal to someone who is at a similar stage. You simply can’t know it all from the start and I can almost guarantee that there will be more still to learn as you draw your final breath.

2. Develop Your Unique Voice As a Tarot Blogger

Let’s talk a bit more about developing your own unique voice. This is one of the most important aspects of developing a loyal following in today’s competitive AI Tarot blogging landscape. Because those who seek information can find bland (and often shallow) AI content pretty much anywhere but they can’t find the soul of your voice unless you learn how to express yourself.

When it comes to writing and blogging the only way to learn is to write. Do lots of it and don’t censor yourself. The beauty of blogging is that, unlike when you write a book, you can delete content you no longer vibe with and make additions/improvements to existing content. Goddess knows I’ve done plenty of both.

As Tarot bloggers, we are on a spiritual journey and our blog is pretty much our public online Book of Shadows. That’s the feeling many readers are after. They want to feel that they are privy to something precious and exclusive. Guess what?! AI can’t provide that; only you can!

As I said in the introduction, having your own voice and using AI for information are not mutually exclusive. However, it is extremely important at this stage of AI technology to verify the information you glean this way via verified sources. Perhaps this is especially true when it comes to metaphysical and spiritual content since it is often pure conjecture and opinion, whether published online or in books.

Please note that I’m not dissing UPG here. There is plenty of that on this blog. But if you intend to share something you learned via AI as fact, it is extremely important to first verify it by doing additional research.

3. Leveraging AI and Technology to Enhance Tarot Blogging

In the age of AI, technology offers us opportunities to enhance our content creation and distribution strategies. By harnessing the power of artificial intelligence, we can elevate our online presence, engage with a wider audience, and provide valuable insights. So let’s explore various ways in which we can take our Tarot blogging journey to new heights.

Streamline Content Creation with AI Tools

AI-powered tools can be immensely helpful for Tarot bloggers in generating content ideas, organising data, and improving the writing process. Keyword research tools can assist bloggers in identifying popular search terms and trends, allowing us to create content that resonates with our target audience. Content generators can inspire and help stimulate new ideas for Tarot card interpretations, spreads, tutorials, and even personal stories.

Enhance Visual Appeal with AI-generated Images

As in all forms of blogging, the visual aspect plays a crucial role in Tarot blogging. AI technology can be used to create visually appealing graphics, illustrations, and collages that enhance the overall aesthetic of a blog post.

Canva introduced an AI image generator this year (2023). When I first tried it out a few months ago, I was less than impressed. However, it is quickly learning (!) and is now generating pretty good images.

Another decent image-creating tool is Leonardo AI. Although if you use the free version, it rarely does exactly what you ask of it. Be prepared for extra limbs or things simply not being added. In the example at the top of this blog post, I asked for a Tarot reader with a laptop. I used up all my free credits for the day and still no laptop. I guess that’s how they get you to sign up for the paid service. Hm, or maybe I shouldn’t have asked for a raven and a laptop.

I’m aware of the controversy when it comes to using AI-generated art but as a writer, I feel the same ethics apply to writing. Hence, if I’m okay with using AI and having my content harvested for AI to learn when it comes to writing then I’m okay with it for art too. The ethics around AI (when it comes to both areas!) may need fine-tuning but it is what it is and I’m not about to close shop until we’ve got it all figured out.

Efficient Distribution with Social Media Schedulers

Managing multiple social media platforms can be time-consuming. AI-powered social media schedulers simplify the process by allowing you as a Tarot blogger to schedule and automate your content distribution across various channels. This enables you to maintain a consistent presence and reach a broader audience without spending excessive time on manual posting. It’s the cheaper alternative to hiring a virtual assistant.

I prefer to post manually but the time may well come when I can’t afford to do this time-wise anymore. If/when that happens, I will not hesitate to leverage AI for this.

Personalise Reader Experiences with AI Recommendations

AI and machine learning algorithms can provide personalised content recommendations based on readers’ preferences and browsing behaviour. AI uses these algorithms to suggest relevant Tarot blogging topics, come up with related interpretations, or even help create Tarot spreads. By using AI to tailor the reader experience, you can deepen the connection with your readers.

4. Optimise SEO Strategies with AI

Search engine optimisation (SEO) is crucial for attracting organic traffic to Tarot blogs. AI-powered tools can help you analyse keywords, optimise meta tags, and improve overall website structure for better search engine visibility. By leveraging AI insights, you can enhance your SEO strategies and increase the chances of your content being discovered by those seeking Tarot-related information.

5. Stay Relevant with AI-Generated Insights

AI technologies can aid you in staying up-to-date with the latest trends, news, and developments in the Tarot community. AI-generated insights can provide valuable information, helping you gain a deeper understanding of your audience’s interests and preferences. This knowledge can be used to shape content creation strategies and ensure that we remain relevant and influential in the ever-evolving world of the Tarot blogger.

It’s important to remember that while AI can be a powerful tool, it should be used with your unique voice, expertise, and personal touch. The integration of AI and technology can enhance the Tarot blogging experience, making it a harmonious blend of human intuition and advanced technological capabilities.

6. Engage with Your Community

Building a strong and engaged community is crucial for the success of any Tarot blogger. In the not-so-distant past, the blog itself used to function as a platform for community-building, with lots of people interacting and commenting. That has changed but community is still vital so how can we keep that part of our blogging experience alive?

Here are some strategies to consider when it comes to building community:

  1. Encourage Dialogue: Initiate conversations by asking thought-provoking questions or inviting readers to share their experiences and insights. Encourage them to leave comments on your blog posts and actively respond to their comments.
  2. Create a Forum or Online Group: Consider creating an online platform where tarot enthusiasts can come together to discuss, share ideas, and seek guidance. This can be a dedicated forum on your website or a group on a social media platform.
  3. Host Live Q&A Sessions or Webinars: Organise live question and answer sessions or webinars where readers can directly interact with you. This allows you to address their specific concerns, share insights, and provide guidance. These live sessions also provide an opportunity for your community members to connect and learn from one another.
  4. Collaborate with Other Tarot Bloggers: Reach out to other Tarot bloggers who share similar interests and values. Collaborating on projects, such as joint blog posts, guest blogging or virtual events, not only expands your reach but also creates a sense of camaraderie among your respective communities.
  5. Organise Meetups or Workshops: Consider organising in-person or virtual meetups, workshops, or retreats where your community members can connect face-to-face. These events create a sense of belonging, provide learning opportunities, and foster deeper connections within the community.
  6. Recognise and Celebrate Success: Acknowledge the achievements, milestones, and contributions of your community members. Highlight their growth, share their success stories, and celebrate together. This not only motivates and inspires others but also reinforces the supportive and inclusive nature of your community.

7. Address Common Misconceptions about Tarot

In the world of Tarot blogging, it is essential to address common misconceptions about the Tarot and educate your readers. By dispelling these misconceptions, you not only provide accurate information but also contribute to the ethical practice and accurate understanding of what the Tarot is. Here are a couple of common misconceptions to address:

Tarot Predicts the Future

One of the most prevalent misconceptions about Tarot is that it has the power to predict the future with absolute certainty. As a responsible Tarot blogger, you can emphasise that Tarot does not provide definitive predictions but rather offers guidance, insights, and possibilities. The future is not set in stone and Tarot readings are a reflection of the present moment.

Any outcomes shown by the cards point to the potential if the current trajectory is followed and even then it’s not 100% certain due to the input of others. If you change your mind, actions and habits, you change the trajectory.

Encourage your readers to approach Tarot as a tool for self-reflection and personal growth, rather than relying solely on it for future predictions. By reframing their perspective, they can embrace the empowering aspect of Tarot and take accountability for their actions and decisions.

Tarot is Linked to Dark Magic or Evil

Another misconception is that Tarot is associated with dark magic, evil forces, or negative energy. This stereotype often stems from media portrayals and outdated beliefs. As a Tarot blogger, it is vital to clarify that the Tarot is a tool for spiritual exploration, self-reflection, and personal insight. It is a neutral tool that can be used for positive purposes.

Educate your readers about the history and origins of Tarot. Emphasise that the intention behind the use of Tarot determines its energy and effects. By promoting a positive and ethical approach to Tarot, you can help dispel these misconceptions and showcase its potential as a tool for self-discovery and empowerment.

8. Promote Ethical Tarot Practices

In addition to dispelling misconceptions, it is crucial to promote ethical Tarot practices as a Tarot blogger. This includes client confidentiality and not providing expert legal, medical or financial advice. Ethical practices not only uphold the integrity of our profession but also ensure the well-being and respect of those seeking our services and who come to our websites for information.

Summary

In Today’s blog post, we have looked at the evolution of Tarot blogging since I started sharing my online musings in 2006. We explored the key elements necessary for Tarot blogging success in the Age of AI. Topics covered include mastering Tarot skills, developing a unique voice, leveraging AI and technology for content creation, optimising SEO strategies, staying relevant with AI-generated insights, engaging with the community, addressing common misconceptions about Tarot, and promoting ethical practices.

Hopefully, I hammered home the importance of maintaining a personal touch while using the power of AI to enhance the Tarot blogging experience. The harmonious blend of human intuition and advanced technology is a win-win as far as I’m concerned. It’s also very much in keeping with the themes unfolding at the dawn of the Age of Aquarius.
