The Angel of Christmas exists in everyone’s heart as a ray of light and hope. She is not separate from us and she is not necessarily a Christian concept although there is iconic symbolic imagery around this angel in the Christian tradition. This angel can also be found in the Tarot. Can you guess which card?

That’s right, The Star, which symbolically also ties in with the Star of Bethlehem. When I did a series of channellings about the Angels and Archangels that correspond with each Arcanum in the Major Arcana, she appeared as the Angel of Grace. She showed up again in my meditation this morning and said that her name is Hope and that she specialises in cleansing human hearts from cynicism.
She appears around the time of the Winter Solstice in every culture to remind us that there is always hope and that the light always returns. However, we can call on her loving presence at any time. She tells me that her presence will be more widely felt year-round, starting in 2025. And yes, this does indeed coincide with humanity entering the Age of Aquarius.
Invocation to the Angel of Grace
Oh radiant Angel of Grace,
Guardian of the keepers of the star of hope,
We call upon you to cleanse our hearts and minds.
Release us from the shadows of cynicism,
Dissolve the barriers that distance us from love.
Let the weight of doubt and disillusionment fall away,
As we open ourselves to your healing light.
Fill us with the warmth of compassion,
A boundless love for all living beings.
Teach us to see the divine spark in every soul,
To honour the sacred threads that bind us as one.
In your presence, we find the courage to believe again,
The strength to forgive, and the will to create anew.
Amen and so it is!
The Many Guises of the Angel of Christmas
In the Christian tradition, the Angel of Christmas appears unnamed as the angel central to the Nativity story, warning Joseph to flee to Egypt to escape the darkness and persecution of Herod.
The Angel of Christmas often shows up as a guardian of the season itself, embodying the themes of love, peace, and light, sometimes perched on top of a Christmas tree. Her energy encourages acts of compassion and selflessness while reminding us that even in the darkest moments—whether it’s the long nights of winter or struggles in our lives—the light always returns. She’s like a warm glow in the heart of the season, guiding us toward reconciliation and harmony.
In art and culture, this angel takes on many forms. Sometimes, she’s depicted as an ethereal being in white or gold, holding a candle or a trumpet, offering blessings to all who seek them. The point is that so many artists have experienced her energy well enough to depict it.
Try this: Close your eyes for a minute and invite the Angel of Christmas to appear before your inner vision. What do you see? How does this image make you feel?
The next time you try this exercise, try asking her a question!
The Christmas Angel in the New Age
From a metaphysical perspective, the Angel of Christmas resonates with those who see her as more than a seasonal figure. Some link her to Archangel Gabriel, the quintessential messenger, or even to Archangel Metatron, who guides spiritual awakening and ascension. Others view her as an archetype—a collective energy of renewal and celebration, urging us to step into our higher selves and embrace the new beginnings the season represents.
And then there’s the personal connection, like my experience of this Angel showing up as the Angel in The Star card. For some, the Angel of Christmas is a deeply intimate presence. This could mean lighting a candle in her honour or meditating to feel her guidance. She’s not just an external figure; she’s a reflection of the light within us all, a reminder that we carry the potential for grace, hope, and transformation.
No matter how she appears or what name she’s given, the Angel of Christmas whispers the same message: the light is always there, ready to guide us back to love.
