Blessings on your week, dear friend!
Sadly, I woke up to the news of the death of absolute legend David Bowie. I spent part of the morning in tears. You don’t have to have met someone in person to have been touched by their life and work. David Bowie was an absolute music legend but he was so much more. His brave and sometimes even bizarre artistry gave many of us ‘permission’ to not limit ourselves and our own creativity by anything other than our imagination.
He was a Capricorn on a 3 Life Path (like me) and he died age 69, only a couple of days after his birthday on the 8th of January. I decided to pull some Tarot cards on the effect his life and work had on me…
All three are cards in the spread represent the Element of Fire. Even though Bowie was a Capricorn Sun Sign, his Moon was in Leo and the dominant Element was Fire.
He sparked the fire of creativity in me, giving me permission to break free from the norm and the expected. He helped me release blocked creative energy. I’m glad to see this so clearly reflected in the cards because I know it to be true… The quint is 8 Strength, another Fire card and corresponding with Bowie’s Leo Moon. My own chart is low on Fire, so thank you, David, for this gift.
The lyrics below from ‘Cat People’ are from the first song that made me aware of the genius of Bowie. I was 11.
“See these eyes so green
I can stare for a thousand years
Colder than the moon
It’s been so long
And I’ve been putting out fire
As I’m typing this, I’m listening to Black Star , the album that was released on his 69th birthday. The lyrics are prophetic.
Let’s wipe our tears and have a look at the rest of the week… What do our Angels want us to be aware of?
- Overall theme of the week
- Work/Life Purpose
- Health/Vitality Levels
- Further info about work
- Further info about health
- Further info about relationships
1. Overall theme. Hope from the Mythic Oracle is a message about new things, things yet unseen being made manifest through our prayers in the days ahead…
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
~ Hebrews: 11:1, The Bible (same as today’s date – a gateway number!)
There can be no faith without hope, and there can be no substance to either without prayer and handing over the things that attempt to cripple our faith. Hope is natural because deep down, we know that all things will end well and if things aren’t well it’s not the end… Ultimately, love will conquer all. We might as well enjoy the ride… Yes, even the rough bits.
“They say a person needs just three things to be truly happy in this world: someone to love, something to do, and something to hope for.”
~ Tom Bodett
2 + 5. Work & Life Purpose. Children from the Life Purpose Oracle Cards together with 7 of Pentacles (Saturn in Taurus/Archangels Cassiel and Anael) from the Frideborg Tarot shows us that whether or not we have children of our own and whether or not we feel a calling to work with children, children will have an impact on our work this week.
Patience will be required, as will a cheerful spirit. Make it your mission to inspire hope in at least one young person this week. Media could easily overwhelm sensitive young people and make them feel like ‘What’s the point?’
3 + 6. Health & Vitality Levels. Sunlight from the Archangel Raphael Healing Oracle Cards and 9 of Pentacles (Venus in Virgo/Archangels Anael and Raphael) from the Frideborg Tarot is a sign that focusing on the things that bring you joy is what will keep you well in the week ahead.
As you probably know, sunlight is a natural anti-depressant. If you live up North and aren’t seeing much of the stuff at this at the moment, make it a point to go outside during the brightest part of the day. Even just 20 minutes of daylight will have a positive impact on your mind and emotions.
The 9 of Cups is about finding contentment and joy from the little things in life. A celebration could be on the cards. Very true in my case as it’s my birthday tomorrow 🙂
4 + 7. Relationships. Engagement from The Romance Angels Oracle Cards creates a binding duo with the The Devil (Capricorn/Archangel Cassiel) from the Frideborg Tarot. While The Devil sometimes speaks of co-dependency, I feel that what we see here is more of the commitment aspect that comes with The Capricorn energies which, of course, are weighing heavily in the month of Capricorn. We also had Saturn conjunct Venus during this weekend’s New Moon – another sign that commitment could be on the cards in the near future.
The Devil is still a red flag to not commit to anything or anyone who seeks to enslave you in any way. Make emotional freedom your guiding light and read ‘the fine print’ (metaphorically speaking) before you sign any binding relationship contracts.
Work with amazonite and garnet this week for more hope and a brighter outlook on the future.
Affirmation: I have faith that all will be well and remember to ask for grace and guidance from above.
“All shall be well, and all shall be well and all manner of thing shall be well.”
