Happy Friday and Happy International Women’s Day! It’s been an interesting week… I’ve been getting more involved in my local community and am currently choosing to prioritise that over my online presence and blogging. I’m also in the process of getting the work-life balance right and finding a way of supporting myself that doesn’t make it feel like I’m putting very long hours in for not a lot in return.
Sometimes we have to break with the routine, especially if we suspect we might be doing things just because we have been getting used to doing them routinely instead of tapping into our inner guidance. I have been noticing less and less reader involvement on the blog recently and this made me realise that I’m not in touch with the popular trends and marketable look in an age where the visual impact seems to be more important than the written word.
I’m not going to lie – It has been putting me off blogging and is one of the reasons I applied to work from home for a big company, doing something completely unrelated. I found out yesterday that my application was successful. This means that you will see about as much of me online (or less) as you have this week in the foreseeable future. I don’t predict any huge lamentation about this.
Oh, I do know what sites and posts are supposed to look like… You just have to do a quick sweep of Instagram for the ‘look du jour’ these days… but I have zero interest in catching up with those trends. I never got into this line of work for my love of marketing and/or staying on trend. The kind of clients and readers I want to attract look a bit deeper than that anyway. Personally, I shy away from any work that seems too image conscious and/ or trendy. I feel that the people who are going to matter in my future have similar values – and for those people, I will always be here.
For the week ahead messages today, I have pulled out the New Mythic Tarot – a perennial favourite because of my love for Greek Mythology. For the General Guidance message from Spirit, we continue to work with the Secret Language of Color Cards. I felt guided to pull two cards this week. The general message is definitely worth a read since the individual messages below are all tied in with this.

Before scrolling past the spirit guidance from the Secret Language of Color Cards to get to your FREE individual Tarot message, please take a moment to ground and centre. Close your eyes if that helps and take a few deep breaths, releasing any tension or worry on the exhale. Breathe in calm and relaxation. Then open your eyes and choose your card above.
Better, More Loving Habits
“Nourishing yourself in a way that helps you blossom in the direction you want to go is attainable, and you are worth the effort.”– Deborah Day
The focus for this week is to allow love to begin to inform our daily habits more and more. This demands awareness of what we are doing that no longer serves us, so spend at least one whole day this week identifying things you do habitually which are either just time-wasters or downright destructive. Write these things down and then cross them out. Next to each bad habit, that you have crossed out, write down something you can do to nourish yourself instead.
The crystal rose quartz supports this process with healthy self-love and amethyst will provide clarity about which habits need to be eradicated or transformed now. I love how the crystal colours match the colour of the flowers above.
An example from my own life is that I stopped going online first thing in the morning, idly scrolling through my social media accounts, and started doing yoga instead. I also decided to stop sitting so much and hold myself accountable by using the step counter on my phone. These are just a couple of small examples of from my own life of things that have had a big knock-on effect in terms of increasing my quality of life, as well as shifting stuck energy.
I would love to hear about at least one new, more loving self-care routine that you will be implementing in the week ahead… Please share in the comments!
Week Ahead Messages Reveal
You Chose Card no. 1S
4 of Swords. This is a great week for you to start or deepen your meditation practice. Beware of how you use your time online – Spending too much time on social media will only increase your indecision. Tap into Source guidance instead and you will find yourself in optimal problem-resolving mode through this week.
You Chose Card no. 2
Ace of Wands means that the best thing you can do now in terms of loving self-care is to do that one thing you feel truly passionate about now. It doesn’t matter if you can see exactly where it will lead you at this stage. All that matters is that you begin. Make room in your schedule for this and count every day that you devote 20 minutes to your passion as a victory. Baby steps count!
You Chose Card no. 3
Knight of Swords. You are Truth Warrior and a rebel who truly needs a cause to be happy. The best self-care tip for you this week is to look into how you can involve yourself more with your community and contribute in meaningful ways. Just beware that making your opinions known is of lesser importance than actually pulling together and working together with like-minded people for the Highest Good.
You may have noticed that all three cards above are from the two Yang/’masculine’ suits of Air and Fire. This Waxing Moon week is a week to actively create change, rather than just sit around and hope that things will improve. The 4 of Swords may look like a passive card but let me assure you that there is nothing passive about getting super disciplined about your meditation practice! Monday, 11 March, while the Moon is in Taurus and with Sun in Pisces is a GREAT time to start a new self-care habit!
