Capricorn Energy in the Tarot

The Devil Angelic Tarot Card Meanings

The Devil

The Major Arcana card that holds Capricorn energy is The Devil. This is something I’ve learned to accept and live with as a Capricorn Sun, Mercury and Venus. It doesn’t mean that Capricorn is somehow the most evil sign. That’s Gemini. Kidding! What it does mean is that Capricorn energy is more apt to fall for the trappings of materialism than some other signs. However, how true that is for you depends on the makeup of the rest of your natal chart. In my case, materialism has been an issue for sure but it has been mitigated by my extremely non-materialistic Piscean Moon, Mars and North Node.

Capricorn Symbolism in the Devil Card

At first glance, The Devil card may appear intimidating, but its symbolism goes beyond the literal interpretation of evil. The imagery depicts a demonic figure with horns, wings, and an androgynous human form. The Devil is depicted standing on a pedestal or platform, representing earthly desires and materialism.

The chains around the necks of the figures in the card signify bondage and limitation, symbolising the negative and restrictive aspects of Capricorn’s practical and disciplined nature. This highlights how Capricorn energy can become trapped in the pursuit of power, status, and material possessions.

The card’s overall colour palette includes darker shades of red, black, and various earth tones, which further emphasise Capricorn’s association with the material world and grounding energy.

Ultimately, the symbolism of The Devil in the Tarot suggests that Capricorn energy has the potential to confront and overcome the limitations and temptations of the material world by gaining a deeper understanding of oneself and finding a balance between ambition and spiritual growth.

The Queen of Pentacles

Queen of Pentacles Angelic Tarot Card Meanings

The Queen of Pentacles (Water of Earth) represents a feminine energy that embodies the qualities associated with Capricorn. Like Capricorn, the Queen is depicted as responsible, practical, and grounded.

The suit of Pentacles is associated with the Earth Element, which aligns with Capricorn’s Cardinal Earth sign nature. It represents material abundance, practicality, and the physical realm.

The Queen of Pentacles sits on a luxurious throne nestled within a beautiful garden. This imagery signifies Capricorn’s connection to nature, stability, and the ability to cultivate a prosperous and secure environment.

Overall, the Rider-Waite Queen of Pentacles tarot card captures the essence of Capricorn through its portrayal of practicality, responsibility, abundance, and nurturing qualities. This card invites us to embody the grounded and patient energy of Capricorn as we navigate the material aspects of our lives.

The 2 of Pentacles (Jupiter in Capricorn)

2 of Pentacles Angelic Tarot Card Meanings

In the 2 of Pentacles, we see a figure standing amidst turbulent waves, balancing two pentacles in an intricate dance. The figure seems to easily juggle these symbols of material abundance, indicating a sense of harmony and adaptability. The background shows two ships sailing on the ocean, representing the ups and downs of life’s challenges.

Jupiter represents the energy of expansion and luck. Capricorn, on the other hand, is an earth sign associated with practicality, discipline, and groundedness. When Jupiter and Capricorn come together, we see the potential for growth and abundance in practical and disciplined ways.

The 2 of Pentacles, as influenced by the energy of Jupiter in Capricorn, highlights the importance of finding balance and adaptability in managing material and practical aspects of life. It suggests that through the application of structure, responsibility, and wise decision-making, we can navigate the ebb and flow of life’s challenges successfully.

The 2 of Pentacles encourages us to find the right balance between expansion and stability. It reminds us to plan wisely, prioritise our responsibilities, and make practical choices to achieve long-term success and abundance.

The 3 of Pentacles (Mars in Capricorn)

3 of Pentcles Angelic Tarot Card Meanings Keywords and Correspondences

Mars in Capricorn represents a powerful combination of energy and discipline.

In the Rider-Waite 3 of Pentacles, we see a figure working diligently on the stonework of a cathedral. The monk represents the one who commissioned this work and the third figure could be the architect as he seems to be holding the drawings or plan. So this card symbolises teamwork, craftsmanship, and the rewards of hard work and dedication.

Mars, the planet of action, courage, and ambition, infuses this card with its dynamic energy. It represents the drive and determination to strive for excellence and achieve tangible results. Mars brings a sense of urgency and motivation to the practical aspects depicted in the card.

The 3 of Pentacles embodies the energy of Mars in Capricorn through focused action and a strong work ethic. It highlights the significance of setting clear goals, collaborating with others, and honing one’s skills to achieve mastery. This combination encourages individuals to embrace their inner drive, overcome challenges, and manifest their ambitions through hard work and perseverance.

The 4 of Pentacles (Sun in Capricorn)

4 of Pentacles Angelic Tarot Card Meanings

The 4 of Pentacles corresponds to the astrological energy of the Sun in Capricorn.

In the 4 of Pentacles, we see a figure sitting on a stool, holding tightly onto four pentacles. The figure is depicted as guarded and possessive, not willing to let go of their material possessions. This card symbolises themes of material security, stability, and control over resources.

The Sun is associated with vitality, confidence, and self-expression. It brings a bright and optimistic energy, shining light on areas of our lives that require attention and growth. In the context of the 4 of Pentacles, the Sun’s influence highlights the importance of practicality, discipline, and groundedness in managing our resources and material well-being. This fits well with the Sun being in Capricorn when we make plans and promises for the year ahead.

The combination of the Sun and Capricorn in the 4 of Pentacles reminds us of the importance of finding a healthy balance between material security and emotional fulfilment. It encourages us to take practical measures to secure our financial stability while also reminding us not to become overly attached or possessive of our possessions. Through responsible management of our resources and a balanced approach to material wealth, we can find lasting success and abundance in our lives.

Capricorn Season Tarotscopes

While these Capricorn Season Taroscopes are primarily for your Rising and Sun Signs, you may also wish to check your Moon Sign for a more in-depth understanding of the energies at play. These Tarotscopes deal with a major theme that Spirit is highlighting for you during the 2023-24 Capricorn Season.

Aries

The 8 of Wands is a sign that Capricorn Season is likely to be busy for you. Alternatively, it could bring just a couple of incidents where you are required to act quickly. Either way, you need to keep your wits about you and stay focused on whatever you are doing/working on.

The Knight of Disks (King of Pentacles) says that it’s better to have a methodical approach even though you may not enjoy that as much. It is all about good daily habits and sticking to them!

There may be an element of time-wasting that needs addressing too. What can you release or walk away from (use the Cancer Full Moon for this) that has been eating away at your time and resources?

The presence of two 8s in your Capricorn Tarotscope is a sign that this season can potentially bring a lot of transformation for you. The key is to stick with those good habits and not allow yourself to be thrown off course when change occurs.

Taurus

A brand new adventure is about to start for you this Capricorn Season! The Fool is all for leaping into the unknown.

The new adventure in question could concern a new romantic partner showing up on the scene (Prince/Knight of Cups). While this looks promising, especially since The Empress (Venus) is the very next card, The Fool lends an air of instability to this new connection, at least initially.

Stay positive but take it slow and get to know the other person properly before giving your heart away, especially if you are looking for long-term stability.

For some of you, this card combination could be about the adventure of having the courage to go deeper into an already existing love relationship. This could bring up some potentially destabilising subconscious feelings so be gentle with yourself and nurture your inner child if you start feeling insecure.

Communication is the key. Speak your truth from the heart.

Gemini

Don’t be thrown by the rather grim titles on the Thoth Tarot 5 and 9 of Swords. The good news is, it’s all in your mind. So what is it that has been getting you down lately? Are you trapped in constant arguments with people in no-win scenarios or are you beating yourself up internally?

It’s time to refocus your energy in the direction of what you are truly passionate about (Lust/Strength). This is how you sow the seeds of success in 2024. You do want success and happiness, don’t you?

Walk away from all conflicts, inner and outer. Then do. Your talking/thinking game has always been strong but you have to roll up your sleeves now and actually do more of the things you love. That’s how you see the absolute futility of the mental negativity that you have allowed to live rent-free inside your mind.

Cancer

The Capricorn Season Full Moon in Cancer is fast approaching and so is a season of renewal for you. This is a great month to get a makeover and to start feeling more optimistic about the future.

The Ace of Swords shows us that there is at least one brilliant idea that you do well to act on in the month ahead. Move forward with confidence and know that you have what it takes to manifest this. The Queen of Wands is your role model for this. Her charisma will soon get others on board and wanting to help you make your idea a reality.

The key to successful manifestation is to rejoice (9 of Cups) in the completion of your desire. This is ultimately what makes you and your idea irresistible to others.

Leo

Who or what is the buzz kill in your life right now? You’re not in your normal creative flow and it’s starting to get on your very last nerve. In other words, it’s time to walk away.

The Queen of Wands puts the spotlight on your confidence during Capricorn Season. Normally, this is not an issue for you but it’s as if something or someone is acting as a wet blanket with the 5 of Wands showing as the challenge. Perhaps it’s family. Relax. This is totally normal during the festive season.

But make sure they don’t overstay their welcome (or indeed you yours) because there could be strife and trouble brewing. The 8 of Cups is the card of divine discontent. As soon as you feel restlessness setting in, simply bid the other person(s) farewell and move in the direction of what makes you happy once more.

Virgo

Capricorn Season is kind to you and generously brings a new opportunity or the potential for material abundance and stability in your life. The Ace of Pentacles could signify the seed of a prosperous new venture or the beginning of a financial endeavour.

The presence of The Hierophant as the challenge indicates that you may be struggling with the expectations and rules set by society or a particular institution. It suggests that you may need to seek the guidance of a trusted guide or mentor about how to make this new venture or endeavour materialise.

The 2 of Swords advises you to find a middle ground between opposing forces or conflicting ideas. It represents a state of indecision and suggests that you may be at a crossroads, torn between two options or perspectives. The action advice is to take some time to reflect, gather information, and weigh the pros and cons before moving ahead with your new venture. Again, seek guidance from a trusted mentor or advisor to help you navigate through this dilemma.

Libra

The King of Pentacles signifies that Capricorn Season is a great time to ensure financial security for yourself and your loved ones. You can manifest your goals through diligent work and responsible decision-making. You have the resources and knowledge to achieve your desired outcomes when it comes to work and finance.

As the challenge, the Ace of Wands signifies the need to embrace your creative spark and take bold action. While the King of Pentacles may tend to be more grounded and practical, the Ace of Wands invites you to step out of your comfort zone and explore new avenues. It urges you to tap into your passion and drive to ignite innovative ideas and projects. Doing what feels fun is going to earn you a better income than sticking only with the tried and tested.

The 2 of Wands advises you to seize the opportunities that come your way. It encourages you to expand your horizons and explore new possibilities. As the action advice in this reading, the 2 of Wands suggests that you carefully consider your long-term vision and make strategic plans for achieving your goals. It emphasises the need for calculated risks and confident decision-making to propel you forward on your path to success.

Scorpio

Wow, it’s as if you are having an awakening to Love and living from the heart this Capricorn Season!

The Ace of Swords represents a powerful surge of clarity and truth in your current situation. It signifies the potential for an intellectual breakthrough and increased mental clarity. This card suggests that you will have the insight to cut through any confusion and gain a fresh perspective on what truly matters.

The presence of Judgement as the challenge indicates that this insight calls you to make an important, possibly life-changing decision. It encourages you to assess your past relationship choices and use that wisdom to create a better future. Embrace forgiveness, release any guilt or judgment, and be open to the new opportunities that arise during Capricorn Season.

The Empress encourages you to patiently nurture yourself and others with love and compassion. This is the season to create harmonious relationships that further encourage consciousness expansion and spiritual evolution. Any creative projects you begin this season are Spirit-guided and blessed!

Sagittarius

As in the reading for Gemini, we have the pesky 5 and 9 of Swords show up in your Capricorn Season but in a slightly different order and mixed with The Empress here. I almost feel like apologising to those of you who get both of these piles. However, it’s not as grim as it looks.

What I see here, for at least some of you, is that a certain relationship is keeping you up at night. Whether you are involved with this person or it’s the Ghost of Christmas Past who has come to visit, the message in the 5 of Swords is the same: Walk away!

This may be easier said than done when the situation feels like a jigsaw you are still responsible for solving somehow, even when the other person refuses to communicate in any meaningful way. Well, you’re hereby exonerated. It’s not your job to fix this. And it’s certainly not something worth losing sleep over. Forgive everyone involved, bless them and move on!

Capricorn

The Princess/Page of Wands represents a new spark of inspiration and creative energy entering your life during Capricorn Season. You may be feeling excited about a new project or endeavour. This card reminds you to embrace this youthful enthusiasm and explore the possibilities that lie ahead. It’s a signal that you have the potential to manifest your dreams and ignite your passions.

The 5 of Wands indicates that you may encounter some conflicts or competition as you pursue your goals. This could be inner conflict that arises from comparing your work to that of others. The 5 of Wands reminds you to stay in your own lane. Find constructive ways to navigate any obstacles that arise. Comparing yourself or what you do to others is not helpful.

The 9 of Cups is a card of fulfilment and emotional satisfaction. It suggests that taking time for self-care and focusing on your emotional well-being will be key during Capricorn Season. This card encourages you to prioritise your happiness and do more of what you love. Celebrate your achievements and take pleasure in the journey. You are on the right path.

Aquarius

The presence of The Emperor suggests that you are embracing your inner authority and taking charge of your life. You are stepping into a position of leadership and are focused on building a solid foundation for your goals and aspirations. The Emperor reminds you to harness your analytical and strategic mindset as you navigate the challenges ahead.

The 5 of Cups presents a challenge for you in the month ahead. It signifies a period of emotional disappointment or loss. You may be dwelling on past failures or be tempted to wallow in feelings of sadness/dissatisfaction. It’s important to acknowledge these feelings without falling into the pit of wallowing.

It may be time to heal and release past hurts to make room for new growth and opportunities (3 of Swords). Allow yourself to grieve if necessary, but also remember that the process of healing is necessary for your personal growth and development. You are more than a conqueror and ultimately, the difficult emotional challenges you navigate this month will equip you to become a better and more empathic leader.

Pisces

Saturn, Lord of Karma and the ruler of Capricorn is slowly making its way through your sign, Pisces.

This explains the three Major Arcana cards that have popped up for you. These cards are here to illuminate a path of hope (The Star) and renewal (The Magician) before you.

But the action advice is centred on The Hermit. Interestingly, the figure in this card is often equated with Saturn even though the card itself corresponds with Virgo.

The best way to spend your time during Capricorn season is to assess your journey so far and then dig for the gold. The gold is the gifts, skills and talents you came in to serve humanity with this time around. You have so much to offer once you feel confident enough to raise that lantern on high and lead the way. Clear the path of doubt and self-doubt. Once Saturn has completed its journey through your sign, you will be much better equipped to fulfil your purpose.
